    lol Harry potter: each movie = 1 year
    The Last Airbender: 3 movies = 1 year

    yes what does this equation prove?

    It means that each movie in the HP series cover a whole entire year, and so through each movie a year has passed since the beginning of the first. For Avatar, three movies cover one year, so it'll only be the length of four months, which means the characters will age unnaturally.

    finally were off the subject about nerds...

    i think Summer is too old to play Katara, i'm fine with the way she looks, but you have to consider the age. Casting directors are most likely looking for someone who is 14-17 yrs old to play Katara. as long as your in that age range, look like Katara and you look 14 (which is Katara's age) then that actress is a contender to play her. age is very critical because the all main characters will have to grow up. i don't think producers would want the katara actress to be of drink age by the end of the last movie.

    Actually, the characters WON'T be growing up. Remember, the whole story line takes place in less than a years time. The movies will take well over that amount of time to be made. The actors will rapidly age and it will be awkward; even more awkward than the HP movies.
    I meant the ACTORS! on the show, each character's wisdom, knowledge, and judgement matures. that's the point of any epic story. that includes novels, poems, tv shows, and trilogy movies. i learned about it in AP english.

    Okay, to make it clear;

    HP takes on 7 years, 1 each year.
    Avatar takes on a year, 1 movie each 3 or 4 months.

    That's, at least, that's what I think.

    actually it takes more than 1 year to make a movie. it would spectacular if any movie came out within a year. that includes from writing the script to the end result.

    right now they're in pre-production. casting might last til the end of fall. filming starts spring 09. following that comes editing and special effects. and the intended movie release date is in early July 2010, which can be changed once they're done filming.

    i have a friend who likes to direct his own mini-movies and this is the process he goes through. he's an aspiring movie director, (real talented too). it does take alot of time and management into making a bigscreen movie.

    we were saying each Harry Potter movie takes place over a time period of one year, not that the movie takes one year to make

    UGH GROSS. Aahahaha. He would not have been able to do the character justice. He's too nice and sweet. I would puke. Plus, I think all of the actors are going to be unknowns, so we've got no idea!
