The only M. Night Shymalan movie I ever liked was sixth sense, and I thought that was a bit overrated. I understand that he has a passion for ATLA, but what makes you guys think that he's prepared to handle it? I'm afraid he'll try too much to add his own 'touches' to it, when what I really want is a souped up, live action version of the animated series. Plus, with a budget this big, there's going to be a lot of studio pressure to 'mainstream' this up a bit. I understand the excitement, and I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but does anybody understand my concerns? I could see this thing being a trainwreck. I hope to god it isn't.

No, we all understand your concerns. But M. Night won't be all alone in the writing process. Bryke will be right there the whole time to help him. They're making sure that the movie has all the vital parts in it without going overboard. Watch the interview and you'll see that they have a large part to do with the movie. Also, M. Night is more notoriously known for his bad writing, which he has stated he won't be doing alone. And he really does understand the show so he can't put some freaky twist on it that won't make sense because he knows how much that would kill the series. Don't worry, we've got our Bryke to make sure things go smoothly.

Quick question: what part from the animated series do you find most indispensible that you fear might not make the films? For me it's got to be Jet. Favorite character+he introduced a new level of moral complexity to the show, and he had a recurring, if not critical part. And I'm afraid he might not make it. Anyone else?

I've had this argument before, but I'm afraid the the solar eclipse might not make it onto the third/second movie.

I'm more worried about Aang and Azula. They're both very complex characters, believe it or not. They're very easy to mess up.
