hello I have a few questions that may have already been asked but I don't have time to look trough them.

    1. In the fortune Teller how did ang freeze the lava coming from the volacano?

    2. Why didn't Aang learn earth bending from from the badger moles in the cave of two lovers who would probably be better teachers?

3.is zuko the only person whose hair can grow?

    4. the inventor guy is probably an airbender or else he wouldn't be able to open the special door.

    5. why does aang need to master all the elements

    Umm....

    1. Aang didn't freeze the lava, just cooled it into plain ol' rock. Used really, really powerful airbending.

    2. Uhh... don't know? I guess it would be hard for him to learn from them because it would probably take a while, which he doesn't have (see answer to #5) and he'd have to stay in one place to observe them.

    3. Yeah, I think so. He does seem to have Miracle Hair.

    4. I don't know about that one.

    5. This one's easy. An Avatar is not "fully-realized" (i.e. he/she can't really access all his untapped power) until he masters all four elements. Aang has to defeat fire lord Ozai before Sozen's comet arrives near the end of summer. Aang will only be able to do that if he has all his Avatar power, so he must learn all four elements before summer's end. I'd say he's got about 4 months left...

Aang did not learn earthbending from the badger moles for the same reason he didn't learn airbending from Appa - because they are FEROCIOUS WILD ANIMALS and would never "agree" to teach Aang. Besides, it was Sokka and the hippies who encounterd the badger moles, not Aang.

And as for the door, the machinist probably made his own passage into the room.

But earthbenders and??perhaps other nations first learned bending from animals so he should be able to learn from them.

Also I have a question about the xings that were mentioned by Bumi. what were they and how do the work? Also how did Ty lee stop Katara from bending?

That is only according to legend - there is no proof of this actually happening. Frankly, I think that you are putting too much weight onto this. Asking why Aang didn't simply learn from the badger moles is like asking why Aang needed Gyatso to learn airbending when he could have just used Appa, or why Katara didn't learn to use waterbending simply by watching the moon.

    I have a question about Azula's bending...

I've heard??many people??calling it blue fire or whatever, but is that what it actually is? Some mark of power or something?
Sometimes to me it looks like electricity but I haven't paid too much attention to the matter. Electricity is heat and fire, so I guess that could make sense...

So what exactly is it and why can Azula do it? (Do we even have the answers to these questions?)

It moves like electricity and not like fire so it probably is electricity. But one of the characters (i forgot who) called it blue fire in The Chase. I think thats becauze they don't know what electricity is since their world isn't very modern, and blue fire is all they can say to explain whatever it is she bends, but I'm not entirely sure...

I have a feeling that it's blue so we know from whom it came.

    "Blue? Must be Azula."

He developed a workaround. The alarm in the mechanist's office sounded while Aang was opening the chamber, so the mechanist must have been able to figure out what/where the door's trigger was. Teo said that his dad designed the palace to send out hot air currents to give the gliders a boost. If he could send the air outdoors, surely he could figure out how to move the air around indoors.

From what I observe she bends two things: 1) blue fire??2) electrical charges. I see a distinct difference. When bending electricity she has to kind of charge up the electrons (and there's a crakling sound) and then does a discharge (like when she broke through the wall Toph put up to stop them the first time we saw them on the lizard things, but when firebending in battle??she just shoots out blue fire which then turns red/orange as the heat dissipates.

I of course am not an expert, this is just how I have interpreted what she does.

power(and probably temperature) in firebending comes from the breathe (Iroh and Jeong Jeong both said so) so I'm guessin Azula has mastered breathing to a level that the energy formed is extremely potent and comes out as blue fire which is much much hotter than orange...but i never got how fire and lightning could be the same...what next? earthbenders that can??move??metal??like Magneto(that would be tight)?

Fire and lightning both employ radiation, so it likely depends on how much radiation is going on. Earthbenders could probably move magnetic metals, but can't separate it from the surrounding rock. Metal mined from its surrounding rock and refined is firebenders' chief defense against earthbenders, but I can't understand why earthbenders can't even put a dent in refined metal without using other tools.

I apologize in advance since this question is more of a way to vent, but what is taking so long for iTunes to upload The Chase? I've been checking all day ... seems like before they were up the day after airing.

Has anyone had an experience of it taking longer than a day before?

Thank you, I feel a little better knowing its not just me. I did send them a message explaining my frustration as a passholder at not being able to have access to the episodes at the same time as they are available for individual purchase.

OK I have a different question now. In Winter Solstice 1 we saw the Earth Kingdom soldiers were attempting to crush Iroh's hands to prevent bending (which may have been ineffective anyway since it was his breath that seemed to heat the shackles) and it does seem hands are usually needed to bend elements - although maybe not for masters such as Iroh and Bumi. So my question is, if Zuko were to use his broad swords??to somehow maim (not in a graphic sense) or if Toph (or anyone I guess) were to try to crush Azula's hands would that diminish her power?

Yes, the last I checked, hurting or maiming importaint parts of your opponent's body does tend to decrease thier fighting capibilities.

I have a question that why avatar Roku can contact Aang all the time even though the first time Aang went to the statue. Also how come the other avatars dont talk to Aang.

Roku is the "front man" for all the avatars before Aang. In the Southern Air Temple episode, I suspect Aang was in the process of learning the history of the avatars. I suspect the reason Aang had to go to Roku's sanctuary in the Winter Solstice episodes was because Roku's spirit was tied to his sanctuary. When Roku destroyed his sanctuary, his spirit was freed into the greater spirit world.

It might be the 'duty' or 'responsiblity' of the Avatar before you to show you the ways.

Remember, Aang is in a difficult time, and he was not instructed properly on how to be an Avatar.
