I seriously think at times the creators are going overboard with the humor in the show. Avatar is a dark show, not Spongebob! Examples of this unnessacary humor would be the "Made in Earth Kingdom" joke in Zuko Alone, the idiotic Earth generals we keep seeing, Sokka getting thrown out of the Poetry place, most of the Avatar Day episode, etc.

um...since when is Avatar a "dark" show. it's a kid show. it's supposed to have humor. and I, for one, think the show doesn't have unecessary humor because I think it's halarious. (but that's just me. you can disagree, which you probably are since you made the thread) anyway, there are some parts which do need the comic relief, though

A lot of people complained about it in the first season, but I honestly didn't see it. Now Avatar Day and onwards on the other hand. Anyway i wouldn't describe Avatar as a??dark show nor a kid show (and not a kid show that has some stuff that appeals to an older audience show either ). I don't know how many times the creators have to say "we designed it to be for everyone" before people decide to take their word for it.

No they need humor in the show or else by the end of the series people would be in theripist chairs trying to get over clinical depresion like they were after seeing "The Land Befor Time"

Let gets this covered: Every shows need comic relief! I'm not saying rip the comic relief out of the show, I'm saying they go overboard at times and add unnessacary jokes that would fit in shows like Spongebob.

what do you mean by "darker"? sure, the storyline is a lot more complex than most kid's shows, but it's about a 12-year-old boy with an arrow on his head and his friends. and let's not forget this is on Nickolodeon

I also don't think they're going overboard. I think the humor in the show is just right

I know its Nickolodeon, but I don't care. The show has a more complex and darker scene. I don't think they should be adding in unnessacary jokes to make Nick happy.

I love Avatar's humor, personally I thought that the "Made in Earth Kingdom" joke in Zuko Alone was hilarious.

Outside of the "Avatar Day" episode please provide an example.

I don't see how "Made in Earth Kingdom" was even meant to be a joke in "Zuko Alone." And in case you could not tell, Tales of Ba Sing Se was a major filler episode. Likely they're trying to save their budget for the final four episodes of season 2, which I hear from sources are absolutely TERRIFIC, most notably the season finale, which could blow SotN out of the air.

Yeah, Sokka's humor usually sounds a little forced, but I have to disagree with Pouj-Rui in that Avatar is NOT a "dark" show. It is more serious than most Nickelodeon shows in that it includes death and war, but it is, for the most part, a fun and light-hearted show. Face it, laughter is the best medicine and humor is an important part of our lives.

Once again you misunderstood *mutters* people need to think before they type...

I think Avatar is more complex and darker than other shows, but just because it suppose to be fun doesn't mean you have to force humor.

See there's that f word again. I just really wish they would go back to the jolly general iroh instead of the "let's go crazy with a bunch cartoon and anime effects on him to make him come off as funnier this season" iroh. ..Yeah, I think the thread's title is mispelled.
