Kelp Fried Pizza

Kelp Fried Pizza (originally Kentucky Fried Pizza), better known as KFP, is a restaurant chain in SpongeCraftia that was created by MDPP. Its many locations has almost become a meme, with some people saying that a country or city isn't official until a KFP is added. To this date, KFP is the biggest restaurant chain in SpongeCraftia and is among the most recognized brand by Spongecraftians, along with Line and sbl bakery. Almost all of the restaurants were owned by MDPP, but not all of them were operated by him. For example, the Satanic Spongecraftia location is operated by Satan himself.

After MDPP's dismissal and banishment from SBC, Halibut took over the company and became its owner. crushingmayhem later took over the chain in 2025 and renamed it to "Kelp Fried Pizza."

Design

The design of every non-specialty Kelp Fried Pizza is the same for all locations: black and red wool for the exterior walls, wooden planks for the flooring, glowstones for the ceiling, wooden stairs for the chairs, a fence post and a pressure plate for the tables, glass to hold up the menu signs, a white wool wall in the back, and a Squidward manning the restaurant. For the most part, there are very few variations on KFPs to keep it uniform and recognizable. Even the KFP Express location has the same trademark design as other KFPs.

History

MDPP originally created the Kentucky Fried Pizza on the second floor of SpongeCraft before it was torn down in the March 2015 griefing attacks. A recreation of the first KFP is now in New Spongecraftia. It was built next to the spongeboblover bakery (which has also since been recreated). Due to its simplistic design, the KFP was easily recreated as "Kentucky Fried Pizza 2.0", which is where the "2.0" in the name comes from.

Kentucky Fried Pizza Express

In the SpongeCraftia Mall, a KFP Express once existed in the food court. It was the only KFP that existed in a mall. Despite being an "express" restaurant, it maintains the same menu as the other non-specialty KFPs. It was later closed following MDPP's banishment.

Specialty KFPs

In some locations, Kelp Fried Pizza has an entirely different design and different menu.

Satanic Spongecraftia

In Satanic Spongecraftia, Kelp Fried Pizza takes an entirely different form. It features an upside-down cross, entirely black wool, operated by Satan himself, netherrack flooring, netherbrick stairs as chairs, and red glass. It is also the only Kelp Fried Pizza that does not have a drive-thru window. This Kelp Fried Pizza was specialized by MDPP, spongeboblover, and OpenWindowManiac.

Apple World Spongecraftia

In Apple World Spongecraftia, the design is the same as any other Kelp Fried Pizza with the exception of framed apples surrounding the counter and the ability to purchase an Apple Pizza. This Kelp Fried Pizza was specialized entirely by MDPP.

Horizonia

In Horizonia, the Kelp Fried Pizza is exactly the same as any other Kelp Fried Pizza with the exception of having a solar powered roof and a clock that hangs above its main entrance. The solar powered roof spells "KFP" three times and was customized by OpenWindowManiac.

Dirt Village

In Dirt Village, the Kelp Fried Pizza is the same as other non-specialty KFPs with the exception that there's brown carpet on top of the restaurant and the floor is made of dirt to give a "dirty" appearance. Despite the appearance, the Kelp Fried Pizza in Dirt Village is perhaps the cleanest of all KFPs.

Black Rock

In Black Rock, the Kelp Fried Pizza is mostly similar, but has several paintings of different sizes scattered around the walls. It also has a darker floor, tables, chairs and back wall to match the city's grimmer theme.

Hide n' Seek Arena

The Hide n' Seek Arena has a unique pressure plate that causes Squidward to say "Get your shit and get out, [playername] !" when stepped on. Other than this, the KFP here is identical to a standard one.

Goldinia

In Goldinia, the Kelp Fried Pizza is similar, but it has a fancy layout and features bigger tables. It is also managed by Squilliam as opposed to Squidward. It was customized by MDPP.

Trivia

The name is a parody of the real life restaurant "Kentucky Fried Chicken."
The regular, non-specialty Kentucky Fried Pizza was saved as a WorldEdit schematic for easy creation by SBC staff or operators.
Despite being called "Kelp Fried Pizza", the restaurant sells alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, and rum), family chicken buckets, chicken bites, and chicken pizzas.
