Do you think Spongebob is gay

    There's also that scene in "Shuffleboarding" where SpongeBob gives Mermaid Man flowers, and Patrick complains why SpongeBob never gives him flowers. SpongeBob then tells Patrick to look in his mailbox and they both giggle. That was another suspicious scene, but again: innocence.

    Ripped Pants had some SpongebobxSandy parts.

    1. He wanted to impress her.

    2. He sang a song for her to tell her he's sorry.

    3. He hugged her.

    Those are some good facts.

    I thought that scene was really funny, and they didn't actually giggle, Patrick just smiled (while growing some huge dimples) and said "reeeaally?"

    @SandMan967: Yeah, there's a lot of Spandy stuff, and there's no doubt in my mind that they lovez each other.

    It's not that obserd that people would say/think Spongebob was gay my mom said that people use to say Ernie and Bert were gay Anyway here's what I have:

    Pros: He is sometimes seen wearing a dress/skirt

    the epi "Rock a Bye clam" has Gay couple" written all over it.

    He's very neat and doesn't like messiness In SB vs TBO, when he thinks Mr. Krabs is dead, he says "I never got to tell him how much i..."

    Cons: the krabby patty he was dating was a girl He dated girls before (Pearl, old lady, ect.)

    Hmm, I know most of the things Spongebob does is because he's childish but some of this stuff no little boy would do. I'm gonna say he's gay

    It's not like he wears dresses and skirts to work or anything. And I'm sure there have been instances where male characters that were obviously straight wore dresses and skirts. And so what if he's obsessed with being neat? Just because a guy is a neat freak doesn't mean he's gay it means he's prepared to wait on Sandy hand-and-foot if they ever get married, instead of it being the other way around. And I've actually seen TV shows with a plot like "Rock-A-Bye Bivalve's" and the two "parents" were male...and it was clear they weren't gay SpongeBob DOES act gay in those other scenarios you mentioned, but Stephen Hillenberg said he's not gay Since he is SpongeBob's creator, I'm going to go with his intention for the show.

    About the neat thing, I only said that because it does seem like a lot of gay guys are really neat, like Craig and Eric on D&J, and Kenny on My Name is Earl. Although like Jerry said in an episode of Seinfeld, a gay guy being neat is very steriotypical (P.S: If you haven't seen that epi of Seinfeld, you should, it's very LOL)

    And just because Stephen H. said HE didn't make the character gay doesn't mean other people do. It even said somewhere on wikipedia that Spongebob is a big symbol or something for the gay community. And does Stephen even work on the show anymore, because I've noticed that Spongebob didn't start acting really gay until after the movie (which I know Stephen worked on). So he might not have originally made Spongebob gay but the new writers definatly act like they are.

    So yeah, also it seems like he hugs Patrick a lot. I understand they're friends and it's okay that they hug once in a while, but it seems like they're hugging ALL THE TIME! They even held hands in one episode. He also told Squidward he loved him in one epi, and I understand guys sometimes say "I love you man," to each other and they're not gay but Spongebob just acted like he was saying it to a girl.

    I rest my case. Spongebob wasn't gay before, but ever since the movie, he's went from just having a childish innocence to just being down right gay in some episodes. I truly think Spongebob is gay (Not that there's anything wrong with that Sorry, I just had to say that. If u don't get the joke, watch the Seinfeld epi I mentioned earlier.)

    ^You have points about SpongeBob and Patrick's behavior...I have honestly wondered if they didn't feel like "more than friends" sometimes. I really wish the writers wouldn't make them so touchy, it makes their friendship seem awkward. I still don't believe SpongeBob is gay but even he was, I'd like him just the same.

    I just can't wait to see some new episodes coming out for SpongeBob showing him having some good times with Sandy. I don't like the fact that the new writers are trying to make SpongeBob gay it's just crazy. I think SpongeBob's only destination in life by hanging out with Patrick is just ridiculous and super wrong when they act all lovey-dovey towards each other, (same with Squidward) I think SpongeBob is more better off with Sandy in terms of love. SpongeBob and Patrick can still be best friends though.

    Straight relationships that I think are correct in this show:

    SpongeBob X Sandy.

    Gary X Snellie.

    Squidward X New Female Squid.

    Mr. Krabs X Mrs. Puff.

    Patrick-too filthy and dumb to have a real woman yet, but maybe if he tries getting a little smarter again and spruces himself up, him and Mindy might have a chance.

    The whole Gay scandal" was something the people in the show came up with as a publicity stunt that worked. Nothing more, nothing less.

    I wonder how SpongeBob and Girly TeenGirl would work out, probably not as she was only shown in one episode, and SpongeBob said so himself in The Slumber Party that she was ugly anyway.

    Yes, I forgot about Plankton and Karen.

    Another even more correct Straight relationship in the show is Plankton X Karen.

    Mrs. Puff and Mr. Krabs I think works too, there was that Krusty Love episode where Mr. Krabs takes her out on a date at the bottled ship restaurant. And at the end Mrs. Puff hands him money and kisses him. Even though that was one episode, I still think that's proof that Mr. krabs and Mrs. Puff are in a relationship, however, they aren't married like Plankton and Karen.

    So far Mr. Krabs has Mrs. Puff while Plankton has Karen, and they are both mature adults that can possibly be in their 40's in terms of age. SpongeBob and Patrick I guess are too young to figure out how and want to start any real relationships yet, after all, in the movie, he was called a kid. Squidward however... well there's no female squid in town so I'm not sure what female in the show is perfect for him.

    Well, in my opiniun,

    Even in some twisted dimenshion if he was gay beleave it or not, it would be a good thing.

    the kids are gonna learn one way or another. the parents tell them to watch the news, but the news is even worse. and what do you think a mom would say if she saw her kid watchin south park or drawn together.

    so, yeah. other then that, he likes sandy. ULTIMATE SPANDY FAN IN THE HOUSE!

    Spongebob being gay=good, interesting.... If you were 6 or 7, and your favorite person/character in the world was gay then what you that prompt them to do? Kids act like Superman/Batman/any superhero because they look up to them, so they "play" that, if someone was going to "play" Spongebob, imagine if a parent walked into it, and saw whoever was "playing" Spongebob was acting gay I believe The Simpsons already did that, when Marge took on Itchy and Scratchy for being a bad influence on children, causing Itchy and Scratchy to be "de-violentized", so, if that happened to Spongebob, I don't think our little porous friend would have a happy ending.

    good point. hes just a little innocent little sponge. and i don't think that ive seen that simpsons ep, since there are a bunch of eppys. ( like, 400 or so)

    Oh boy, you're gonna hate me for this but, sigh, I do think he's mostly gay It's just that, I dunno, there are so many scenes that are just wrong! How do you explain his hyperventilation at simply having Squidward sitting next to him on Boating Buddies? The same thing happened on Squid's Visit, and what about the infamous "I LIKE Squidward" quote? ugh, and I hate admitting this, but I'd support SpongeBob, in fact, I think he's bi because, as you know, I'm a Spandy fan, only I don't see it really happening. There are more gay examples than straight ones, and OK, now you can start bombing against me

    I was thinking the same thing when I first saw the BB episode. But I only think that SpongeBob simply ADMIRES Squidward whenever he does things like that. SpongeBob probably admires Squidward so much that he hopes that one day he can be as smart and sucessful like him.

    READY AIM...HOLD FIRE I kinda agree with you JFJ. Remember in The Slumber Party when SpongeBob thought Girly TeenGirl looked UGLY. Sure its not a good example, but then a few episodes later in the eppy Dear Vikings he kissed Squidward. There's another gay example. But I think he is more bi than gay or straight.

    This rumor about spongebob being gay has got to stop. We all know spongebob is not gay Some guy wrote "spongebob is gay in a review a little while ago. Soon, people read that review and now people are constantly coming to spongebob boards and saying that spongebob is gay Everybody who has read reviews saying spongebob is gay don`t listen to them because it is not true. Just because spongebob is happy a lot doesnt make him gay Whos with me?
