Hey sometimes the little square dude needs to have some rest along with his voice actor who is Tom Kenny, so they just make SB appear in a few short scenes just for possible comic relief and as a more like the behind-the-scenes kind of guy where other characters/VA's are given some special spotlight episodes where they have bigger roles and appear more often in certain episodes. Sometimes Mr. K and Plankton need to be shown for something big like a battle for the businesses!
I thought Best Frenemies was pretty good, but I thought Plankton's Army rocked! (well what do you expect? That episode was in the best season: season 3 after all.)
