Maybe it's supposed to make the viewers THINK it's real until they surprise them by revealing it's actually a play.

yeah its sad that this is so fake, otherwise i would be way more stoked for this.

still way to throw a curveball and tease the marriage of SB and Sandy. that alone is getting me curious

I noticed on the SpongeBob home page that there's a caption next to the picture of Sponge and Pat, and it says "SpongeBob's Getting Hitched!" So cute!

I just realized something. If it's a play, then what's the play about? And it is kind of unlikely that SpongeBob and Sandy would be referred to by their actual names if they're just supposed to be playing characters. I'm not denying that that's a play, but just those factors confuse me.

Oh yeah, and why would there be stairs in the center of the stage? Usually, they're just on the side.

Yeah..I agree with you. And, what are the other factors that you think it's just a play? Aside from the book...what else?

You guys are getting me to think here and i hate it. Problem is, we won't know until the actual movie & then two things can happen. The Spandy bunch (including me) will go on a rampage for being "kicked between the legs" kinda way or partying like 1980 :-/

^I noticed that too! I thought they might be somewhere off screen. Plus, if Plankton keeps trying to sabotage SpongeBob's work place, why are he and Karen there?

It's surely being done because the fans asked for it. Back when Rugrats turned 10 years old, Nickelodeon did what the fans always wanted and showed them as teenagers.

Who knows? When that gained popularity, Nickelodeon made a spin-off based on it. If this special gains popularity, maybe they'll do something special for SpongeBob and Sandy...

The special is called "Truth or Square," so maybe there are a variety of things in it to throw people off. It may sound lame, but it's just a theory.

I don't care what Hillenburg says. SpongeBob and Sandy are perfect for each other. Any true Spandy fan would know that!
