Like I said earlier, SpongeBob's voice is insanely high in Fear of a Krabby Patty. Listen to him cheer Team Krusty Krab.

Patrick's voice HAS changed ever since season four began. In seasons one, two, and three he sounded more natural. Now he sounds mindless, and often speaks in an uptight voice.

Squidward's voice have changed ever since the beginning, too. In season one it was extremely nasally. In seasons two, three, and the movie it got slightly less nasally. Ever since season four it has gotten much less nasally.

Mr. Krabs and Plankton sound the same as always, as well as Sandy.

I don't know what it is, but Pearl seems to sound different to me.

I was paying attention to Squid's voice on the movie, and I found it a little weird, like when he says "I'm going to report with the highest ruler of the sea: King Neptune!" I thought he sounded extremely nasally particularly on that quote. Patrick's voice on season 1 was slower. Then it sounded a little more enthusiastic. Now it's much deeper.

The rest have stayed the same, IMO.

If only he could've kept the "normal" voice...

In the movie, he probably seemed really nasally there because you rarely hear him like that. But he does sound like that whenever he was mad.

IDK, the normal voice sounded very weird to me for some reason...

Hmmm, I'm listening to "Gone" right now and SpongeBob sounds pretty good to me. It should stay that way: medium-squeaky.

The voice was perfect in seasons 1+2 and then it just went higher and higher and higher and it is morphed into the terribly squeaky voice it is in today's new episodes. They should've kept it at season 1 levels. That was when his voice was best, IMO.

I don't care what his voice sounds like. As long as it's the same voice actor throughout, I'm happy.

True, and when I look at some of the other characters that he has voiced in other shows I can recall the character's voice getting higher as the series went on, and then faltering kind of like with SpongeBob...

I doubt anyone here besides tvfan95 is going to know about "Camp Lazlo" but Tom Kenny voices one of the main characters on that show...same thing.
Tom Kenny voices Slinkman and Scoutmaster Lumpus on Camp Lazlo, but I don't recall their voices getting higher in pitch, or changing, as the show went on. I don't think Heffer's voice or Dog's voice changed either. The SpongeBob voice just must be difficult to do, it is really high after all. He was the voice for the narrator in the Powerpuff Girls as well, and I think that stayed pretty consistent.

Hey! Somebody here does know about Camp Lazlo! Yeah, well, I thought I noticed Scoutmaster Lumpus's voice getting higher as the series went on, whereas in earlier episodes it was deeeper and lower.
It may have gotten higher, but it didn't change the way I felt about the character, because his personality was pretty consistent.

The one thing that does annoy me is SpongeBob's laugh keeps on changing every season. Anyone else notice that?

I liked his voice the most in season three, then two, then either season one or the movie. After that would be five and six, then finally the season four voice.

    Update:

As many of you know, I now like his new voice as much as his old one. It's just the way he talks in new episodes that bothers me.

I think I get it. In the movie SpongeBob does have his season four voice, however you really can't tell because he talks differently. The movie was made when SpongeBob wasn't the one dimensional character who's always happy, like in season four.

Basically, what I am saying is that it's hard to tell SpongeBob has his new voice during the movie because he isn't always shouting and laughing. Sure, he has his moments where he is cracking up, but SpongeBob's personality in the movie closer resembled that of his older appearances. Here he usually spoke more calmly like he used to.

I have some proof of this. In seasons four, five, or six pick out a scene where SpongeBob speaks seriously, although that may be hard since he is always happy now. The scene I recommend is when he confesses to Patrick that he was scared to ride the Fiery Fist of Pain. Here, compare the sound of his voice to the moment in the movie where he talks about how much he went through in six days five minutes twenty seven and a half seconds. They sound similar because they're the same voice in the same tone.

After giving it thought, I must say that I like SpongeBob's new voice equal to his old voice. I know, call me crazy, but look at my post above. In the new episodes his voice itself is fine. The problem is the way he talks. His new voice seems really bad because he's always all happy. But if you listen to him when his is talking seriously, like in the movie, he sounds fine.

And that is exactly why I don't like the way the current SpongeBob talks. However his voice is perfectly fine. In fact, there are moments where his current voice tops his old voice, in moments during the movie.

Yeah you're right. That's why his voice gets the complaints.

I give his voice a thumbs up for his performance after SpongeBob realizes that they would never survive in the trench, before Mindy shows up to reasure them.
