One of the things I have noticed:

Most people that swear up and down SB is gay are people who very much do not like Spongebob (the show and/or the character) So I don't give them much credibility because people who have negative feelings towards things often exagerate (negatively) just to vent frustration or to try to bring others to the dark side. (I'll bet Palpatine is wringing his hands menicingly somewhere...)

Now, people who just say that they don't see Sandy and Spongebob as a couple, that's totally fine with me (I'd rather everyone agree with me, but I don't mind seeing other people's POV's) and I have had a great many guy friends who, to an outsider looking in, might have even thought there could be something there between us, but in no way could it be. However, that being said, there's nothing keeping SB and Sandy apart except two measley issues:

1.) Spongebob's maturity level (that's not saying love is not in his future, it's just saying he may have a harder time getting it.

2.) The air vs. water thing. But Sandy is a genious and could probably solve that problem (just read my fanfiction! Where there's a will, there's a way, as the saying goes.

Lindsey you are completely right there (again!) and guess what also, most of them are from the younger generation. KIDS these days they don't understand romance, love or having a proper connection I'm engaged and you're married, so we both know the true feelings of this loving emotion But "SuperMarioKoRn" is correct, the conch shell did say he would get married, awww, sweet. We all know though, that they won't show it This is all too confusing for me, too many POV's but an opinion is an opinion.

About that maturity level thing, I'm quite a shy adult who does act a HELL of a lot younger (maybe ten at times, he-he) but even though I waited around nineteen years, NINETEEN, my fiancé loved me because I was different. She laughs at my child side. Like me, Sandy laughs loads at Spongebob, because he is being himself. She has never told him to grow up, if you've noticed. If they do this combo, like a horror film sequel, they will find a way to work around it (air/water challenge)

20 now, 21 this September. Two adults so far, not surprising.

*PROOFY Time* basically here are all the episodes that Spongy and Sandy appear in together, in the very First Season:

Tea at the Treedome, Ripped Pants, Sandy's Rocket, Nature Pants, Culture Shock, MuscleBob BuffPants, Squidward the UnFriendly Ghost, Scaredy Pants, Karate Choppers, Sleepy Time, Suds, Valentine's Day, Texas & Fools in April.

Basically write an episode, then the proof. This will continue, until we all agree, then we move onto Season Two

Ripped Pants =

Sandy's Rocket = wouldn't say AVOID. Basically Sandy had serious work to do and had no time for fun. She said she would allow Spongebob to go to the moon with her, but said it in a serious tone of voice, because she knew pretty well, what he was like (clumsy.) Later on when Spongebob & Patrick were beginning to catch aliens (thinking they were actually on the moon, instead Bikini Bottom, after launching Sandy's rocket by accident) Spongebob said something like "When I bring her back an alien, she'll LOVE me"

Nature Pants = I agree with more people (especially Patrick) wanting him back, not just her. When Spongebob decided that living with the jellyfish, wasn't such a good idea, he did two things, before he went straight home...look through the Krusty Krab window and cry out Sandy's name, while looking towards her Treedome. Nobody else, just his (much loved) job & Sandy.

Culture Shock = Nothing here, just a quick appearance at the talent show.

MuscleBob BuffPants =

Squidward the UnFriendly Ghost = Went to Squidward's (so called) funeral, that's it.

Scaredy Pants = True, no interaction with Spongebob what so ever. When the Flying Dutchman was about to steal everyone's soul though, even Sandy was really frightened and called out for Spongebob (in a "help me" sort of way)

Tea At The Treedome: Obviously this is the one everyone quotes because he acts like he's showing up for a first date. He asks Patrick what air is (essentially asking for advice which Pat gives) in order to impress Sandy ("Can't get enough of that air!" why would he care to impress someone he didn't care a flying flip about?)

Ripped Pants: This is THE one everyone quotes even more than treedome. He is clearly jealous, not so much of Larry, but of what Larry can do (that Sandy enjoys) and Spongebob doesn't feel he can participate. When you have a crush on someone, you like to do the things they do to feel more connected to that person. Spongebob tried and failed, so had to find some way to draw her attention. (Plus, they hug at the end!)

MuscleBob BuffPants: Again, he is trying to impress Sandy.

Karate Chopper: I can't even remember much about this episode. It was one of the first few I saw and only saw it once.

Suds: Sandy is concerned for his well-being "Don't worry Spongebob. You'll be better soon." and berating Patrick's half-baked attempts at curing his friend.

Valentines Day: Not much to say about this. She gives him a lovely acorn valentine, saying "I'm nuts for you." where Spongebob blows her a chocolate bubble, saying "I'm bubbles for you!" But he does rely on her help in delivering his special V-day balloon to his long-time best friend (a friendship that close and long-standing is even more important than a crush, or should be, so that's okay that his V-day gift was more thought-out.)

There are other episodes, though!!

Squirrel Jokes: Yeah, you'd think this would be the opposite of a lovey episode but you're wrong! Yes, Spongebob gets swayed by the crowd into making jokes about Sandy, but he does not realize the effect they are having on her. It is clear there is a communication break-down between the two of them. Spongebob tries to explain he doesn't mean anything by the jokes and she tries to explain that they hurt her feelings. Also, they hug back-stage. When spongebob visits Sandy in accordane with her note from backstage, he brings her flowers, even seems self-confident as he knocks on the door.

Pre-Hibernation Week: Sandy clearly wants to spend a lot of time with spongebob in this episode and it was very sweet that spongebob offered to give her all of his time he has not "...already sold to Mr. Krabs..." to her. Plus, he was helping her with her pre-hibernation chores. Not a lot of casual friends would do that. When he leaves her to hide under a rock it was not in shunning her, but in self-preservation (even sponges need to rest!) and Sandy goes on a furious mission to find him. She is deeply concerned about his well-being and whereabouts! When she finds him she hugs him tightly, too tightly. Spongebob confesses (to unhearing ears) that he can't play with her anymore because he can't take the games ("time for a down-home favorite! Find the hay in the needle stack!") but begs, "say we can still be friends!" but once he notices she has fallen asleep for the winter, he falls asleep at her feet.

The Best Day Ever: I've only seen this one once, but I think I can remember well enough. Part of Spongebob's best day ever was going to be karate fighting with Sandy. When he gets there and she has to fix a leak in her dome, he accidentally fixes it for her, which she is very grateful to at the end of the episode (not much of a thing, but nice nonetheless.)

A Flea in her Dome: Spongebob is crying torrents because Sandy has been gone 2 whole days. He was literally counting the minutes until her return. He had the idea to throw her a welcome home party with a banner and cake. When she arrived off the bus he began to sing (but was cut short by the bus driver) but is clinging to Sandy tightly. It was all pretty sweet until the flea-ordeal. Patrick blamed Spongebob for throwing the party and Sandy for bringing the flea down there but Spongebob shows no such malice.

I know there are more, but that is my contribution.

Season Two: Bubble Buddy, Wormy, Pre-Hibernation Week (Hetty has answered that) Christmas Who?, Survival of the Idiots, Squirrel Jokes (also answered by Hetty) Pressure, The Smoking Peanut, Band Geeks, Procrastination, Sandy / SpongeBob & The Worm. Many are nothing, just the ones that both appear in, even if it is just for a quick second.

Do not know if this is true or not, but on one of the other topics, someone said that new episodes will be airing next week. If so, let us hope for more Spongebob & Sandy
