Not many guys would admit this, but "Leona Lewis" = Bleeding Love, is a touchy nice song and somehow reminds me of Spongebob & Sandy. If Keely or you Pixie make another romantic SpongeBobxSandy video, please use this song. Your choice of course.

Keely there is no wrong with seeing the opinion, of the opposite side sometimes. It's true though I haven't been a fan of Spongebob from the very start (of its actual release) from October...... I think but this idea struck me so hard, has soon as I saw it (so I wasn't so used to see Spongy being just single ) ...Don't think this great idea, could have impressed me so much, at its early stages, it has now because I'm older (20) I've got this male & female friend (both around 19, 20 at the moment.) They too agree with us fans *Phew* and they DON'T even watch Spongebob that much. Adults are more likely to pick it up, than the younger generation, agreeing with it or not.

You don't have to think much...I DID enjoy it, a fine piece of art *salutes* that one you mentioned, that had all the evidence on it, but wasn't completed. In regards to the comment about "To Love A Patty" I can theorize something plausible. On a few occasions I have been totally crushing on people that liked me as a friend but never showed any romantic interest in me back. So in the interem, I developed "sub-crushes" and dated a little bit. but I gotta say, the last time I really super liked a guy who seemed completely uninterested in me and, in fact, dated other girls regularly, I started dating another boy, hung out with him over the summer. The moment my primary crush said "You know, I've never gone out with you. Wanna go bowling?" I dropped the summer boy like a hot potato and now that primary crush who asked me bowling and I are married 8 years this June!

Anyway, thanks orange for the welcome. I've been a member of tv.com since before it was tv.com and was, instead, tvtome.com. So I've been around. I'll enjoy this forum. I've never "forumed" here on this site before this.

In regards to being a fan from the beginning, I'm sorry, I have to disagree. I have been a fan from the start (I was a mere 19 at the time) and from the get-go I thought that Spongebob's friendship with Sandy would be cute if it were more, but it wasn't at all a serious thought until a few months ago. However, I think it is a cute concept, totally, and I would looooovvvveeee to see it in an episode, I'd giggle and be all giddy and that would be top on my favorite episode list... but I can understand why they don't go there. Even though the majority of Spongebob viewers are over the age of 18, it is still a show directed toward kiddies and youngsters (especially little boys going through that phase) would not like to see thier hero be in love. Secondary characters is okay because it is a "throw-away" plot that won't make any changes to the show. But if Spongebob and Sandy were to profess their undying love for each other (and I beleive it's stronger from SB side than from Sandy's, though I think she is quite attached to the "little square dude,") it might turn off a lot of viewers and the network is trying to play a very delicate balancing game.

Don't get me wrong, just because I understand that it is unlikely to ever be official that doesn't mean that I don't reallly wanna see it! I think they're somewhat close to being perfect for each other.

In regards to inter-species relationships, these characters could be classified as "furries" and in the world of furries, species is like race. It doesn't matter. When in doubt, turn to the icon of all furrie-dom, Sonic the Hedgehog. In the SatAM his girlfriend is a ground-squirrel (a rodent related to the chipmunk) and Sonic is a hedgehog (obviously) and no one said anything about that! In the Archie Comics Bunnie Rabbot and Antione are a couple and that's interspecies! In the case of cartoons, it is necessary to suspend reality (and in Spongebob there is a LOT of suspension of reality) so on that note, I believe interspecies relationshps cannot be an argument. However, the wet/dry issue can be an argument because that is a barrier that exists in the world of the show.

I have the very annoying habit of writing a lot because for some strange reason, this is a topic that you can say loads about. Apart from my 1st blog message on this site (Spongebob ends in 2008 or something on those lines.) I haven't come across anything that has intrigued me so much, seriously.

WOW good old Karina (Spongebob_17) needed me to explain fanfiction to her, quite a while ago (start of blog) but your teaching is much better to mine. That whole sub-dating theory you write, has really got me thinking now. When thinking about it though, didn't Spongebob & Patrick date that elderly couple in "Chocolate with Nuts" But we SpongeBobxSandy fans know, that Sandy is the main crush around these parts...brilliant. Congratulations on your long marriage, my fiancé won't stop talking about getting married, bless her heart. Been engaged for about three months, been with each other for a year & five months.

To be honest, I only wanted to talk about this particular topic, on this cool site

Only started watching this not that long ago, but something hit me so hard, when I researched this cute couple. NOTHING, has got me on the web has much as this. I don't know but the audience seems to be, well spread out. From tiny kids to middle teenager to full grown adults. It's a pain most of the time, but between the age groups, there is something that the show can do to make some quite happy, but others not so much. Examples:

The Spongebob Movie = Patrick & his backside scene = Kids would laugh, but not many teenagers and adults would.

Spongebob & Sandy (General) = Kids giggle, teenagers don't, adults don't mind.

Adult Humor (General) = Kids and some teenagers don't understand, adults do.

It is clever for a show to be like this, but the balancing aspect isn't always the best option. Their ideas will affect the scales. That's why I think, when the creators decide to say "sadly, it's time to pull the plug now" that is when it could happen. Spongebob gives Sandy a quick peak on the cheeks (get it, Sandy Cheeks ) that way, it doesn't matter how the scales are because the show has ended. I hope this does happen though Throw away "term" I now understand fully (learnt something new, thanks new teacher) that is why I reckon, the movie was made, but they may make a few more (like the TV Movie last year.) Bottom line, if it happened or not other decisions will affect the "overall" viewer count (e.g. many don't like Season Five at all) so it won't really matter at the end of the day.

Don't you worry, I didn't take it the wrong way at all. Just seems odd that the actual cartoon, games, books, art, fan made stories, shows hints to Spongebob's secret crush (see the other links in this blog) Stephen probably knows about all this (SpongeBobxSandy) and that's why I think he is doing it on purpose

In "Spongebob's Atlantis Squarepants" Sandy made a, non-realistic invention, to eat things while wearing her underwater helmet. Maybe if they make it official, another invention could be designed for them. Plus there has got to be an explanation, why they joined a land critter (female squirrel) with underwater life. Time will tell I guess.

And oh yeah, furries,. There are fur-cons (furry conventions) where people make "fur-suits" of their "fursonas" (furry+persona) and wear them to the conventions (like cos-play) There's a whole sub-culture surrounding us... well, I say us... I have a fursona (Hetty Bobcat that you see jumping-jacks as my avatar) but I've never made a fur suit or gone to a fur-con.

What got me into this? What got me into what? Into Spongebob, into the forum, or into the SBxSC thing? I guess I can answer all three and hope the answer you want is among them. LOL.

I got into Spongebob when I was working at K-Mart in the "soft-lines" department and all these little kids clothes had spongebob on them. I told my husband, "We gotta watch this show, just so I can know what it's about." It happened to be on one rare evening we were watching tv. Try as I might, I can't remember what episode, but I'm sure it was season 1 because I remember that art style. I said "This show is very cute." and started downloading a few episodes from online. My husband at first didn't seem to have an opinion, but his computer desk was bedhind mine and he would watch spongebob over my shoulder while he was playing Ever Quest. A couple of years later he bought me one of the dvd's as a gift and the rest is history. When the movie came out we watched it in the theatre (something we reserve only for movies we really really anticipate. The last movie we watched in theatre was Simpsons on opening night.) I've been a ravenous SB fan since the beginning, I guess.

What got me into the Spongebob x Sandy thing, it's a little silly, but here's the story. I have this terrible problem with obsessing over things. Boy oh Boy when InuYasha was out, you never saw a rabid fan-girl like me (don't beleive me? Check out this sculpture I did in my college sculpture 1 class: http://hettybobcat.deviantart.com/art/quot-Wild-Boy-quot-17754938 (I got an A)) and I was thinking (while I was watching one of my many spongebob dvd's) that I have liked spongebob but I have never obsessed over it and I found it a little curious. Well, low and behold my mind saw fit to take that challenge and suddenly I thought, "I wonder if anyone has done any spongebob fanfiction) I had always, like from the get-go, thought that Spongebob secretly liked Sandy. I mean, look at "Ripped Pants" and "Tea at the Treedome" and "Squirrel Jokes" and "Prehibernation Week" even though they are subtle, I'm a romantic at heart and there's nothing better than a good cartoon love-couple. Aw. Well, fanfiction lead me to search fan art so I thought I'd try my hand at drawing Spongebob and Sandy myself : http://hettybobcat.deviantart.com/art/Spongebob-and-Sandy-72798107 and it just seemed... right. *shrug* Plus, I have a soft spot in my heart for nerdy, well-meaning guys (which is totally weird because my husband was like the coolest guy in college, so it seems people never marry their "type" you know!)

And how I got into the forum, Graykitty left me a comment on Deviant Art (we're both members of the spongebob fan club) and told me about linking my pic and I was like, "Cool! I wanna see!" so I found the forum topic that seemed most likely to be the one with the link and here I am.

Oh, in regards to Atlantis Squarepantis, I didn't realize they were dubbing that a tv movie. I have that one. I love it. Very cute. David Bowie did a wonderful job with the voice. My husband remarked that if he were making animated programs, he would definately consider David Bowie as a voice actor because he did a fantastic job. Thank you for the list of sb programing.

Oh, and that pic you posted the link to for 404bot, I have been parusing his gallery and he hasn't been on DA long but he's got some cute stuff. On top of that, he (I keep calling 404bot a "he" but I'm not reallly sure... generic gender titled person. lol) is very very nice and leaves super nice comments on other people's art.

For my daughter's 1st birthday this past Saturday I kind of pushed mom to get a spongebob cake pan to make her a spongebob cake, using the argument that she loves spongebob, but really, if it were between spongebob and hello kitty, she'd rather watch hello kitty (though she watches a good deal of spongebob... thanks to me. ) but I wanted her to get the cake mostly because... I wanted a spongebob cake. LOL!

Anyway, Orange/Alex I'll probably continue calling you Orange (if you don't mind) because my nephew's name is Alex and one of my best friends' name is Alex, etc. So I have a number of Alex's in my life... so it'd be better to differentiate you by a different name.
