I know, I know this has been a topic that has appeared a lot of times lately, everyone is probably a little bit fed up with it. But I'm a new Spongebob fan (for a few months come to think of it) and I want to say what I think. Now I've read the other stuff about this, it does seem around 50/50, if you go to fanfiction.net; there are a lot of cool love stories. Go to YouTube, lots of love videos (made up of course) and even, deviantart.com, loads of sweet/cute pictures. On here, there don't seem like there is that many supporters (OH, I'M A SUPPORTER) First things first, the actual argument:

1. A sponge & a squirrel =

True, odd, very odd, but isn't this show odd, period. There aren't that many cartoons that take place under the ocean. It isn't seriously, just a small group of citizens, doing random things. Of course you have your serious moments, but mostly crazy activates that people wouldn't do in real life (e.g. having fun with a piece of paper, ha-ha, see season 1)

2. He is gay / the crush =

Hate this above word, the creators have denied it again and again and again (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encyclopedia) he is not gay (most people love to judge, just because he acts a lot different, at least he is a happy person & loves life) Plus in "Love A Patty" if that's what its called, lol, he refers the patty has a she & don't forget the prom with Pearl.

But the creators have admitted he has got a crush on her (also see the encyclopedia) I'm about 20 years old, so seeing signs (or hearing) that a guy likes a girl is quite easy. I've seen a lot of this show already and it is right there in your face basically. I was like him once, no girlfriend, not that popular, very random, etc, lol. Had more female friends than male, liked them a lot (crush) but never the other way round. Now I'm engaged to my fiancé, still random, ha-ha. That is why I think they get along so well, has a pair, it's a nice message that even the nerds (or whatever you decide to call Spongebob) can have happiness in love. Note the older people on this site may understand this better, than the younger ones here (no offence to the younger group)

3. If it is true that they are meant for each other, they should have showed it by now?

True indeed, but it could affect the overall ratings. So basic common sense would say to me, like any other program (TV or movie) if they are going to become a pair, it would be right at the end of this show, a final great ending for Spongebob I say.

Now I'm not asking anyone to agree with this or not, just my own personal opinion (cos I'm a spongeXsandy fan) which sort of makes sense. Basically the evidence shows that Spongebob likes Sandy, more than friendship of course, Sandy has yet to feel the same way (I think the creators did this on purpose though) If an adult can see it, then it does say something. back to the subject sorry bro it won't happen. Ash and misty didn't happen, sonic and amy didn't happen, knuckles and rouge never happen, team rocket didn't happen, mario and peach didn't happen, luigi and dasiy didn't happen etc the viewers knows they like each other bt the creators wouldn't make them a couple because to get us more thrilled to see if anything would happan.

I do agree with my bro, it probably won't happen period, it's a kid / adult cartoon after all (like the other excellent examples he gave) it must be a fan fiction thing I guess. But I seem to love the whole boy + girl thing in cartoons these days, really sweet. Plus I think Sponge needs someone close to him, sends a nice message across to everyone. Crush is probably the word I would use actually. Maybe that's true with the program thing, it does happen in MOST other programs...but the creator has said he does have a CRUSH on her, but not the other way round sadly. Thanks for the congrats!!! Yeah! SpongebobxSandy, the most favorited couple in the show. XD Other than Plankton and Karen, who are HILARIOUS! LOL! I do youtube, and make most of the Spongebob and Sandy vids you'll see! Actually, I used to think Spongebob was gay O_O

But, I found three things. Spongebob always puts Sandy first, other than his job. (Nature Pants), AND he says in the Survival Guide, that drying out is a fishes greatest fear--which means everytime he goes to visit her, he's risking his life. ALSO On p.58, he tells you how to act around your secret crush. But around the end, it's not so secret, when he says "Take me for example. I act perfectly natural when I go up to the treedome and..." then he goes on, "I'VE SAID TOO MUCH!"

It's sad, that most of the evidence is found in video games and books instead of the actual show. That really sucks. But if they decide to make a special, with either one of those books or video games story, as the episode, then that'd be awsome!

SpongebobxSandy is one of the sweetest couple's you'll find. Spongebob's childlike actions make Sandy happy! And Spongebob needs a grownup to help him out. They are PERFECT together!! I don't just say they should be a couple because it's sweet.

Oh my god oh my god, I've finally found another spongebobxsandy fan, welcome to TV.com friend. Plankton & Karen are odd in a good way, least Plankton has something Mr. Krabs doesn't (a wife) but then Mr. Krabs does have a child, so can't say much, lol.

Seen a lot of the YouTube vids about these two (great work by the way, always impresses me) and it does been a tear to my eye Nature pants...least you've got good eyes; nobody else has ever said anything about that. Please can you tell me more about this survival guide, that I've heard so many times, e.g. name of it?

Once again I've got to step up and solve this problem. This mainly goes to spongebobfan_17.

Now there is a reason why GrayKittyGirl is so convinced and I'll try to explain this. It may prove a little difficult to put into words. Has all people know, everyone likes stuff, which others hate or everyone likes something, but for different reasons, etc, etc. So we'll going to use this has the example (Spongebob) now the Spongebob fans will split into different groups, e.g. favorite episodes, best characters and coolest ideas. But some will like it more than others do, like myself, it has become a daily thing (something that hasn't done this to me before) have you noticed I'm on these forums A LOT, average once a day. Some of the fans, that adore this to bits, will look much deeper into the cartoon and come up with their own ideas. I'd like to call this "fanfiction" what this means, they will create their own ideas or they wish to see something really badly (that is my meaning anyway)

So spongebobfan_17, you'll right, he DOES NOT LOVE Sandy, but has a crush on her, that's all. I & GrayKittyGirl, it has become an odd obsession (of course, the other supporters is well) and we would like it to be more. You may not like it, but that's the truth (at present) you have to be a true fanfiction fan yourself to truly understand. Hope you understand this though a little bit better

At least you have a better understanding of this. Even if you don't like fan fiction that much, always look at those sites, the stuff people do is amazing I tell you. The biggest problem is that whatever idea they decide to do, there is always going to be different reactions to it. When this ends, if they aren't together I will be upset (cos it is what I'm a fan of, plus Spongebob & Sandy are my favorite characters by the way) have you noticed I created this topic and write the most for it (fan fiction thing.) If they do, I would be over the moon, but some would get pretty mad, so really it's a no-win situation with the fans. We've just got to wait & see, how they approach the...ending...I hate endings. Mainly because, I've never got into a TV series before. The thing everyone has got to improve on, is respect what others believe in. Even if people can edit that website, I will never stop believing. Thanks for your honest opinion though.
