This is my 2nd post but in any case please understand. I am sick and tired of the way our beloved Sponge is being degraded. Deep down, I can tell that the show is going nowhere but down to its death. The management and writers have been poor and they have been the people who have been strangling the life out of Spongebob since they came in. It's an injustice for them to stay any longer and get paid while we fans and Nickelodeon lose the Sponge we used to watch. I wrote the following on the top Spongebob forum fansite, UnitedSpongebob, which is now a ghost town after the show declined. You can read the rest at this link: http://www.unitedspongebob.com/forums/index.php/topic,20354.0.html.

Please understand. I know that this might be too loud for a new user to post. But honestly can I help it?

Can I help it? The new seasons are awful. AWFUL. The first half was brilliant. The second half, seasons 4 - 6 are just bad. Bad. BAD. I cannot believe I said this despite being a SB fan. But I have to be honest with myself. As a SB fan I do not want the show to go on like this ANYMORE in the 7th season onwards. The ratings have dropped... no... PLUMMETED to the ground in ways I could never have imagined.

Enough is enough. The new writers and all those responsible must go. They have had 3 seasons to prove their worth and Nick has wasted precious dollars bringing them in. It's so sad to see writer CH Greenblatt doing so well for rival Cartoon Network's "Billy and Mandy" but good for him. He has helped turned that show around into a show that many can enjoy and which uses great humour.

Ratings have dropped VERY badly since the movie hiatus and the show has been going nowhere except downhill. Please understand how vital decisions here onwards are. If season 7 does not fare well and continues the downhill cycle, we could see the end of Spongebob productions for good. And what a gloomy, sad, hopeless end that is.....

We are all aware of this. We have been aware since the beginning of the fourth season. And if nothing has been done in three years, then nothing is gonna be done. This show is gonna get worse and worse and finally end horribly. There has been one good episode since the fourth season that I'm sure everyone can agree with. It is Have You Seen This Snail? That episode was good. I also liked Sing a Song of Patrick, but otherwise, they suck!!

They definately don't have the same quality as the earlier episodes, but I've learned to enjoy them. Have the ratings really plummeted? I know a lot of people say this, but I haven't exactly seen the proof.

These new Writers, clearly this Show is turning Stale, everything seemed to Plummet all of a sudden after the Movie, and one of the reasons I'm sure is because the Great Stephen Hillenburg left, I'm not sure what the Story of that was, maybe Stephen thought that movie at that time was a good way to end SpongeBob, but Nick refused to end it, and its Suffering because the Score is Decreasing (it may only be a little, but its still decreasing) its at 8.6 now, and it hasn't gotten above 8.7 in a long time. So what's been happening to SpongeBob is quite Sad and Disappointing and a lot of SpongeBob Fans like us are disgusted with the Results of many of the Newer Episodes, these Writers are just simply not as good. If Nick really wants this Show to run longer without much problems, then they either need to get Stephen Hillenburg back (if Possible) or find some new Writers that aren't so lazy, and ones where they're nice and they got a lot of good ideas and a Creative Imagination, and ones where they aren't into Groos Humor so much, definitley that, you woulnd't belive how Apalled I was with the Gross Humor Results of Fungus Among Us. I think that Episode and perhaps a few others like the Best Day Ever, To Save a Squirrel, and Atlantis SquarePanrtis need to be Cancelled. Finally, I really do like this Show. SpongeBob and his Pals in Bikini Bottom are so cool! I'm just talking about how shameful it is with these new Seasons that haven't exactly been glorifying SpongeBob (at least not that much.)

The Best Day Ever wasn't so bad. The song was good. Atlantis Squarepantis was horrible.

This is different. I started this thread because I am calling for the IMMEDIATE SACKING of the guilty new writers and the piss poor management who have been handling "Spongebob Squarepants" for the last few years. For heaven's sake! These men are paid PROFESSIONALS! They have had 3 bloody seasons to prove their money's worth and they are clearly not cutting it and doing poorly and below par.

It is an outrage! The show has declined greatly and only the loyalty of those from those fans nearly 10 years ago can possibly keep it alive. Worse, the management and the writers have been relying on that momentum TOO much as shelter for poor performances. In will not take long before Nickelodeon finally steps in to give "Spongebob" the Guillotine. In the meantime, these morons behind-the-scenes get their salaries.

What great business isn't it? Nickelodeon keeps the new writers' contracts intact with the option to renew it and the GRAND tradeoff is well... the show ITSELF! More crap like this and it will not take long before production is forced to end thanks to the great incompetence of those involved behind the scenes. End the show? End the show? The show seems to be begging for death anyway. I wonder why the show must die. Hmmm, I wonder why the show must die and the writers get paid. I wonder why the writers MUST get PAID AT ALL!

Only really BAD management will allow these awful new writers to keep their contracts. It is insanity already! They should have torn their contracts apart and thrown the pieces away forever in a fireplace after the 4th season came out. The 7th season is about the begin and our "world class" management does not seem to have made any changes to the lineup. There should be no reason Nickelodeon must sacrifice one of their biggest multi-million dollar assets in favor of their contracts. It is really AWFUL business to do so and even a child can see why.

This must be resolved soon if Nickelodeon is really serious about keeping their great asset on air. TERMINATE their contracts IMMEDIATELY. SACK THEM NOW! At the very least, have them reassigned to another department where their abilities can be used better. Only pure stupidity will let them stay any longer in their current positions.

It is true that I have kinda started hating the series after the movie hiatus. Get the old writers back! In fact, there was only three episodes I enjoyed in the sixth season. Suction Cup Symphony, Nautical Novice, and House Fancy. Hopefully the writers may write up an episode like House Fancy or The Krusty Plate again since they were really enjoyable.

Well, judging the new Seasons, I'd say Season 4 was only mildly bad compared to at least some of the Episodes in Seasons 5 and 6, meaning Seasons Five and Six I think were even worse than when the bad Episodes were only starting in Season Four. There has been at least a few miraculous good Episodes like what jww047 said about the Episodes Have you Seen This Snail? and Sing a Song of Patrick, plus if its one Season 4 Episode I like is Ghost Host and Chimps Ahoy, I thought that one was pretty good too.

I didn't mind the episodes up until Atlantis Squarepantis. From that episode on, I really hated all the episodes. Except for The Inmates of Summer.

Don't forget Bummer Vacation and Wigstruck! They were pretty good episodes in the fourth season as well.

They've gotta have less songs, they are very corny and the singers aren't that great.

Some of the songs are good. I don't think there's any in season six besides pest of the west. But Atlantis Squarepantis's songs were horrible.

Sorry to burst your bubble SpongeBob hater. But Atlantis SquarePantis was the highest rated SpongeBob episode to date. Plus the show is in the top 40 for ratings at least 20 times a week. So do some research before you decide to bash SpongeBob again, because your post was laughable for how incorrect the information was. Please stop bashing SpongeBob on the SpongeBob forums, because you sound stupid when you do, when you look at the ratings.

look at my posting history, i do not hate the show

i just think that the newer episodes have really lost it and the writers aren't doing well, so it should be over because obviously there's some problems going on in the writing booth

I loved the seasons 1-3, but like many other SB fans on the forums, my opinion after that, Blah.....

i think the writers are running out of plots and Nick should stop renewing it

and think twice before you call me a basher, because your new, and i'm well known round' these forums

I know that seasons 1-3 have had better quality than 4-6, but I like the new seasons. I've posted this on another thread before, but my favorite seasons in order are:

    Season 3
    Season 4
    Season 6
    Season 2
    Season 5
    Season 1
