That list is retarded, anyways. Lisa Simpson is a great character. If you need a Simpsons character to put up there, use Martin.
    *gasp* How could they???

I totally agree with SpongeSebastian. To be honest, the only bright side I can think of was that he wasn't #1.

I wouldn't get bothered about that. Just from reading what you pasted, it's clear that they are just a group of SpongeBob haters who come up with anything to make fun of him. It's nothing to be taken seriously if you ask me .

Just remember, AskMen.com also disagrees with that list, it was posted by another guy from another site and currently it seems that 55% have voted on eliminating that top 10 from the site or something.

55% isn't that much. :/ only 5% more than half.

90% of all Top 10s don't even HAVE a 'should we eliminate this?' thingy, so 55% of users taking their time to say 'get rid of this.' is indeed very much, just imagine if in a forum at some part of the site the mods gave us the chance to say if it should stay or not, while everything else is normal, it getting over 55% agreement (not like the other 45 says no, like let's say, 5% says no, the other 40% don't even go there to vote.) would be massive.

That list is just idiotic! Honestly, it bashes REALLY GOOD cartoon characters in my opinion...SpongeBob, Lisa and Pikachu are fine to me! (And Pikachu was actually my favorite part of Pokemon.) But, if you compared SpongeBob to the other toons of the 90s, I do agree that it wasn't the best and was blown of out of the water by other shows. But since they've all ended, SpongeBob is basically a major part of what keeps Nick alive. The people who made that list really don't know what they're saying. Do they have a BEST cartoon characters of the 90s list? I'd like to see that!

Eh, these people are just basically SpongeBob haters, and other good cartoon haters, Pikachu and SpongeBob rocks! SpongeBob SquarePants is definitely on the big list of being an ultimate show of good cartoons and entertainment, so people who try to go up and fight against it are going to lose big time. I think SpongeBob is a cool character! And he was even more cooler and adult-like in the 1990's so yeah... how anyone could hate the cool yellow sponge and his show is beyond me (well at least the first three seasons anyway.)

So SpongeBob/Pokemon/The Simpsons=good quality entertainment and tv show legends, in fact, two out of three of those shows are even levels on this site. (Levels 28 and 38.) Even though they aren't as good now, they still beat complete garbage like The Mighty B! and Naked Brothers (at least in my book anyway.)

Again, probably every user who has read that list on their site disagrees, and made who ever runs the site put a poll on if it should stay or not.

So Askmen.com are good guys, and just who made the list was far too influenced to do a list, putting his own opinion over any fact.

I don't even really see SpongeBob as an icon of the '90s, since it premiered very late in that decade. The cutline for that article said something like "Children of today are lucky that they don't have to put up with these cartoons from the '90s" but they still "put up" with SpongeBob. SB didn't really gain its popularity until late 2000, so if anything it should be mainly an icon of this decade. That list is obviously just one guy's opinion, so don't pay attention to it at all.

Well, SpongeBob began airing in 1999, one year (7 months because it aired first in May) So the 90's didn't see him as much as the 2000's kids do. And Pokemon was a year before SpongeBob, so both shows premered in 98 and 99.

Exactly my point. This list is not accurate and whoever wrote this should've checked with other people's opinions instead of just ranting himself of whatever shows came to his discomfort.

The nineties was a golden age of cartoons so it's not a surprise that it's not as high up in the list as you might think. However 4th worst thats bull***t there was much worse than Spongebob who is still going to this day which surely proves it must have been good.

This is so true... I can't even begin to name the hundreds of shows which are much worse than SpongeBob - and SpongeBob isn't even bad, mediocre or good... it's excellent.

Precisely. I'd rather watch Spongebob more than way more than 4 other cartoons from the 90s.
