I saw the episode "House Fancy" and saw the part where Spongebob jammed Squidwards Toe Nail with the couch leg D:

I nearly threw up in my mouth once the toe nail ripped off. It's the kinda thing you would see on [adult swim], not Nick... -_-

yeah that is pretty gross... and inconsiderate to Squidward... but i guess in cartoons they can get away with that sort of thing.

A squid is ment to have 8 legs and arms but he has 4 so i guess a toenail is possible!

Actually, it has been confirmed he's an octopus, not a squid.

Other episodes that were wrecked with a gross joke include Plankton's Regular and Sand Castles in the Sand.

Yeah I thought it was pretty funny too. That's gross humor that doesn't bother me as much as most do

Me three! I though they kinda overdid the toenail, but the slapstick was funny!

The only reason I watch it nowadays is because of what the show once was.

I thought SpongeBob breaking his knuckles in "No Weenies Allowed" was way more gruesome. So was the scene in "Plankton's Regular" where SpongeBob has his entire face sliced off by a door. As for me, I can handle WAY more graphic violence than that.

I think many of the fans here complain too much about the amount of gross jokes they're using on the show. For example, many find the episode "Fungus Among Us" to be the grossest and one of the worst SB episodes, and all I have to say to that is, "What?" Not at one microscopic instance did a find that episode gross and, in fact, it's one of my favorite episodes of the newer seasons.

Have any of you guys ever watched "Ren and Stimpy"? If you did, you wouldn't be complaining about the little grotesque jokes they occasionally and rarely put into "SpongeBob". Not only does R&S do it all the time, but they take it over the top to the point where you're like, I can't believe this show is on Nickelodeon. If anything, I think SpongeBob should do it more, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah it's pretty gross, but not enough to throw up or even attempt to.

You must have a weak stomach.

But octopuses don't have toe-nails either

I haven't seen this episode, but it sounds kinda gross.

When I first saw the episode the toilet scene disturbed me more than the toenail one

well since cartoons don't feel pain theres only the 'gross' element of it... and so it's allright (as long as gross out humour doesn't replace classic Spongebob humour or something)

I agree with Sebastian, Ren and Stimpy is a repulsive show.
