So what if spongebob's g4y, does it really matter? He seems to like sandy, so maybe he's bi.

But I reckon Squidward might be a bit g4y. He lives alone, he seems to like modern dance etc., he's never been seen with women.....

Ok, I asked a moderator. It is okay to talk about political stuff on this site, but it depends on what the topic is about, and it depends on what you are reviewing on. And it's okay to talk about it on blogs.

    P.S. I don't think Spongebob is gay.

P.P.S. This is my 1,000 post on TV.com.

Well, according to the definition, asexual can mean that one hasn't become fully aware of their sexual perferance. This means that SpongeBob might not always be asexual, after the creator said it. However, I doubt he is gay as he falls in love with a krabby patty, and calls it a girl.

no flaming, i jus want an answer

SpongeBob is not gay he's like a kid of 6 years, you can see to kids of 6 years holding hands and you don't think nothing bad about that, well, I don't think nothing bad, they're best friends and just that. I think SpongeBob have a crush on Sandy.

There's no need to come up with excuses, and poor ones at that. Look people, children aren't going to get any ideas from that quote, or anything else. The bottom line is that it is harmless.

What the heck do you mean poor excuses? Sure G*yness is a part of life and some people are like that, but why are we thinking a Cartoon Character is G*y? I'm just one of those people that can't accept the fact that some people are G*y, I only believe in Man with Woman or Vice-Versa relationships and Marriage. I like it when Spongebob doesn't show g*yness, so Bottom Line is I think the Producers need to make an Episode where SpongeBob goes to the Restaurant in the Bottled Ship with Sandy as a Date like SpongeBob and Patrick went on Dates with those two old ladies in the Episode Chocolate With Nuts. Speaking of which that shows both Spongebob and Patrick's NOT G*y side. So another Bottom Line is that Date and when he hangs around with Sandy means...(although some see parts in certain episodes where he's g*y, or at least that's what they think) that SpongeBob is at least Bi.

Your bad excuse is that a bad writer made that episode. First of all, that quote of SpongeBob won't give people ideas, as it wasn't meant to be interpretated as gay Secondly, even if it was meant to be true, and even if a bad writer does it, what the writers say, goes. I don't mean to offend you, but that's the truth. Also, there is no reason to be bothered by people who think he is gay You know that SpongeBob isn't gay You know those people are wrong. We even had an episode where SpongeBob falls in love with a krabby patty, which he refers to as a girl. That shows that he at least is straight, and is too inexperienced and young minded for true love.

Okay, I know this is going to sound really stupid, random and out of place BUT...I was watching this the other day, after not watching new episodes for a ridiculous amount of time.

Anyway, I am one of those people that gets pretty annoyed when people used to say Spongebob is gay...BUT the following exchange of words in a recent episode seriously makes me wonder--

Spongebob: "Bye Squidward! By Mr. Krabs! (with eyes half closed lowered voice and a wave with that tinkly sound effect) Bye Squidward..."

Patrick: "Spongebob, you said bye to Squidward twice."

    Spongebob: "I LIKE Squidward."

Uh, could someone explain to me wtf was up with that? Are the writers trying to soil my childhood memories or what? I'm not saying Spongebob's gay but it seems the writers are sure trying to make it look like he is...and if he is I don't care, but seriously, Squidward? Eew.

Well you guys you know that boys and girls can just be friends and just friends right? well anyways about spongebob being...well you know one of my sibblings says he is g*y and so does one of my cousins that kind of started it with us...my sibbling says "he is g*y because he is too close to patric and squidward like in one episode( which is kind of new) where spongebob finds a submarine and he gets in with patric and says "bye squidward bye Mr.Krabs...bye squidward" then patric said" you said squidward twice" then sponge bob said " I like squidward" in a passionate way" and spongebob and patrick hug tooooooo much. They dont make it too g*y because young viewers are watching.........gross. just like the one above me said.

First off, I don't recall saying I was affected by others saying they think SPongeBob is G*y, and even if I did, then I meant to say that's their Opinions but I'm not really affected by it because it looks like many others are saying that SpongeBob's not G*y anyway. And well, if you think so much that Quotes like that won't give people any ideas then perhaps you're right, but I'm gonna wait and see if anything happens. There's one Saying "you never know..." And as for the Writers well, I'm sure some things they Write will cause Issues, but it depends on how good the Writer is and how good he is for the Job, and Trustworthy (and I'm sure Writers do have Bosses.) As for the Episode "To love a Patty" well, it showed Spongebob's loveable Side for women, except his reference was a Krabby patty, so I guess it depends on the Episodes of which side they Show, but the Bottom line is, if you add all the Episodes together, he's either Bi or Ase***l. I just wonder how SpongeBob and Sandy will turn out.

Why do people keep censoring gay but not straight? Anywho this exchange practically confirms that he is gay:

Spongebob: "Bye Squidward! By Mr. Krabs! (with eyes half closed lowered voice and a wave with that tinkly sound effect) Bye Squidward..."

Patrick: "Spongebob, you said bye to Squidward twice."

    Spongebob: "I like Squidward."

The real question does it even really matter? How does him being gay effect the quality of the show? It's not like he'll ever actually come out the closet, and it's not like a bunch of episodes centre around him and his love interests, so why does it really matter?

Well, you could be right, but the problem is I've seen that Quote like a million times, plus its only one Episode. I've seen plenty of other Episodes where SpongeBob's showing no G*yness by hanging around with Sandy, and finally, there's also that Episode: To Love a Patty. it may have not beeen a real woman, but he was at least making a Reference to the Krabby Patty being a Woman. So, again, in Conclusion, if you add all the Episodes together Spongebob's at least Bi or Ase***l.
