He seems to have a "thing" for squidward. No matter how many times he tells sponge what a little *** he is or how much he hates his guts and everything he's ever done, sponge still follows him around like a rabid, diseased, homesick puppy.

I don't think he's THAT gay He wants to be friends with everyone he meets (Kinda like Tabitha from Slacker Cats).

For the show to survive for how many more years it's going to be on TV, something big has to happen on the show. I don't know what, but something has to happen before the show loses all it's viewers... |
So you think they should make him gay in order to keep the story going and create ideas for further episodes?
I agree, this is a kids Show for Heaven's Sake! and talking about a character being G*y is kinda Adult-Rated! not to mention not really appropriate...(at least I know that's the way it is in my School!)
Again, why are we talking about Spongebob being G*y? Some people are saying he is straightforward and that ain't nice...poor SpongeBob! Don't listen to them! Besides I don't see any g*yness in SpongeBob, especially when he hangs around Sandy, who is a GIRL!!! and sure he wants to be around Squidward a lot, but that's because he just wants to see what he's up to and try to be his Friend! Because SpongeBob just wants to see if Squidward and him can get along after all the Squidward being mad at Spongebob Episodes!

Kids watch the show, so they really shouldn't make Spongebob really like this at all. |
This post here shows how some people just think about things more then is needed. Really, the way the characters act in this show is harmless. Kids aren't going to look at things that way.

I don't think so,but my brother said he is gay |

Well, he does seem to have a liking to Sandy, but no, I don't think so. Plus, he and Patrick are best friends. Most best friends are that close. |
I'm not sure if he is gay or not. On one hand, I feel he has feelings for Sandy. But on the other hand, in 20,000 krabby patties under the sea, he kinda proves he is gay Here is proof:
SpongeBob: Bye Mr. Krabs. Bye Squidward. (in a flirting tone) Bye, Squidward.
Patrick: You said bye to Squidward twice.
SpongeBob: I like Squidward.

What the...? Okay maybe it was the Writer, a bad Writer chosen for the job since it showed proof to kids that SpongeBob's G*y! Kids don't watch this Episode! I'm sorry but its just that I don't want kids seeing bad messages like that in Television! |
There's no need to come up with excuses, and poor ones at that. Look people, children aren't going to get any ideas from that quote, or anything else. The bottom line is that it is harmless.

Does it even really matter if he is gay |
It doesn't matter really, people just like to debate. I like debating as well, but this isn't my kind of topic.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, why aren't there any gay characters in cartoons? Just because you're gay doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you. Besides, some children have homesexual parents. |
