Gah! The caps lock! *cringes*
Alright, now it's my turn to state my opinion. First, to stay on topic, of course I want Avatar to win, considering it is at its death year and Spongebob has already won and probably will have more chances to win.
Now, for the dispute, I will admitt to laughing at some moments on Spongebob. I greatly dislike the show and think it's past its time, and I've grown out of it (even though I'm 14). We are all entitled to our opinions, so, yes, I believe Avatar is better. Why should it win the KCA? See the first statement, it's original, and it has a good balance of humor, romance, and action. A lot of adults respect it and, even though it is originally aimed at 12 year olds, adults and teens alike watch it and it could become a great family animation show. It is grossly underated, but Spongebob fans who claim that it doesn't have new episodes should be informed that it is Nickelodeon's option to air any and all episodes of their shows. Don't blame the writers (you know who you are). Anyone flaming Avatar just because of the fans flaming Spongebob, when they have never seen an episode in their life, that's completely unfair. If you have and think it's boring, you are entitled to your opinion and we all have different tastes.
I'm not a Spongebob fan, and I'll say that I think it's a bit childish, but for good reasons- because it is aimed at younger kids. Adults who watch the show probably just love goofy characters doing stupid stunts (I'm not flaming- Patrick isn't all that smart, after all), and that makes them laugh. I have no issure with that, it can relieve a lot of stress. The reason for its high ratings are both because of the fans who stick to it ever since it aired and consumption of time slots (which is, I think, a bit unfair, because people will start to get tired of repeats once there's no new episodes). I just got out of it because of a switch of senses of humor, I like a good balanced show with plots (though, I'll have an occasional randomnized show), and ever since the movie, the episodes just haven't been the same nor as entertaining. I don't hate it, I dislike it.
However, these shows cannot be compared based on episodes nor plot/no plot, considering they are so different.
Anyone who just simply says ______ sucks is ignorant, both Avatards and SB fans alike. Anyone who bashes SB because they're an Avatar fan and just because of the time slots (c'mon, there are more reasons) is ignorant. Anyone who says Avatar is a cheap anime rip-off and has failed is ignorant (again, you have to have better reasons).
Mcrod4, I'm sorry, but sometimes you tend to get annoying. It's great to defend your show, but giving reasons will help your opinions. No one, including you, has a right to just kick someone out for stating an opinion and actually explaining it.
A lot of people are taking this too seriously and sarcastic attitude is making it a bit worse than the situation is. I'm welcome to a rival between SB fans, though not so much as to bash their show. I could go on a rant to why I pick Avatar over SB, but it's all based on opinion and I am in no mood to see complaints. This may not stop the flaming or invasion, but I agree that we (Avatards) should not discriminate you (SB fans) because of what you like and we should never assume that you are in any way immature by default of liking the show- only how you handle situations confirm maturity level. We shouldn't be silenced from what we think, but we should show respect (we as in all of us) to what we think and not counter it with useless comments such as 'You're wrong.'
...I hope I don't get this post used against me... *hides*
