    Spongebob has no set storyline and no specific beginning and end. It's just a bunch of slapstick humor and a buncha stuff that happens, and Spongebob could potentially last as long as The Simpsons.

    Avatar is a story that has a beginning and an end, and the episodes (except the finale) have already been completed. It is the people at Nickelodeon who decide when to air new Avatar episodes and when to air Spongebob episodes.

    SB is the most popular CURRENT show for kids 12 and under, but is mostly because nick is airing it a lot, and most of the really good shows(only exception is FOP) have been taken out, like rugrats, the thornberries, hey arnold

    I don't find the shows they brought to replace them as good (el tigre, and others)

    Avatar is basically the ONLY CURRENT animated series geared toward teens, while most of the series geared toward teens are of the like of Zoey 101 and iCarly

    and Drake and Josh just recently canceled(replaced with iCarly)

    they took out danny phantom series (but stil in reruns and SHOWN MORE than ANY episodes of avatar, they don't even show book 1 and 2 repeats in the main channel; in YTV they showing each week the repeats of the first 13 chapters of Avatar, much more than Nick)

    Yes they were. DP was cancelled, and so was Drake and Josh. Even Ned's, alhtough that cast was getting old.

    Sure avatar doesn't get enough hype but whining and complaining isn't going to help the ratings.

    Nickelodeon made a bad choice to buy an anime for nick in the first place but their's nothing wrong with trying something new.

    Usually when someone turns on teh tv and it's on Nick they expect to see either a cartoon or a live-action show, not an anime.

    AND ABOUT THE FORUM RAIDS!

    Even though I have an extreme hate for Avatar(I didn't say it sucked I just said I don't like it) I think that it would be best

    if you Avatar fans got the heck out and the sb people who've been bothering you stay here.

    If you can't handle people's opinions I suggest you stay off boards open to the public. I'm sorry people's opinions are different then yours and that you apparently can't handle that.

    And any reason you don't like Avatar? Apparently you hate shows with plot, good animation, or any form of character interaction. You say we don't have any intelligence, yet you cannot provide one fact that makes Spongebob better.

    Also love the hypocrisy of your post. Right after this you went onto the Avatar board and flamed us! Well played sir.

    I wish we could get pissed at NICK and not the avid fans of other shows.

    Look, I watch Spongebob occasionally but I've grown up and out of it for the most part. I watch it and I feel empty. I don't feel like that when I'm watching Avatar. I like both but I just like Avatar better. There's nothing wrong with thinking Spongebob is better if it's your preference. Besides, the two shows are too entirely different from each other, except for that they are on Nick and one of them keeps getting shafted by the other.

    Who do you think writes all the episodes? GROWN-UPS. Kids under ten would not be able to come up with ideas like the ones on TV. Plus, there was one time (I think in 2003) when Spongebob did NOT win Best Animated Show in the KCA. I don't remember when, though.

    The target audience for Spongebob is younger kids. Of course an adult wrote it, adults write shows like the Wiggles too, it doesn't mean it's aimed at an adult audience.

    OK I'm starting to get pissed.

    Avatar fans: I know you feel like crap but Avatar is getting killed because Nick is convinced "The future is yellow and square", but we still have Nicktoons Network. That AAND DVDs. ALL with better features than SpongeBob DVDs. Avatar is one of those unfortunate shows with potential that get killed fast like Invader Zim, MLAATR, and Danny Phantom (at least FOP came back).

    SpongeBob fans: I know YOU feel like crao because you're sick and tired of Avatar fans coming in to your forum and saying "AvAtAr FtW! sPoNgEbOb sUcKs!" all all this other stuff. But you guys did it to them and they felt like doing it to you. I am not into SpongeBob as much I used to be (hence my less activness on this board) but I still like the show. And yes, that Avatar fans are correct, the shows quality is declining. mrcod4: I'm surprised you have that username and you type/ speak like that at the same time.

    I'm sorry, but that's not true. (In the US anyway) The last time Avatar appeared in the top 15 for Neilsen ratings was when the Season 2 finale aired in December 2006. Cable ratings now usually just consist of Sports, Disney shows, and SpongeBob. I mean just look at one of the ratings reports on zap2it or Cypnosis.

    Nickelodeon hardly advertises Avatar. If you look at the Ratings for the last week of Nov. 07, you'll see that when Nick DID advertise for Avatar, it made the top twenty list and beat out a few shows including I Love New York 2. The point is that Nick does excellent advertising for Spongebob and that is why it gets more ratings because more people know about it. There have been several people around this board and others stating that they have friends that love Avatar and had no clue the new season started thanks to the 9 month wait and the lack of advertising.

    Also, we shouldn't be kicked off the board just for talking about why we like Avatar better. We've pretty much stopped flaming Spongebob now. and again, in my opinion, Spongebob is very childish and I stopped watching is (as much) when I turned 17. It was one of those moments when I realized I was getting older, when I couldn't watch Spongebob anymore. I live with my mom and she thinks Spongebob is stupid but I got her into watching Avatar. Different adults like different things. I bet that if those same adults that watch Spongebob watch Avatar, they'd like it too.

    I am usually on the naruto fourums. So, you probably don't know me. I have a few things to say to the people on this AND the Avater forum.

    I've been reading the stupid SH*T you guys have been saying to each other in the posts. LAY OFF IT! We all know that Spongebob is an OK show and Nick is trying to turn it into the next simpsons. And that Avatar is one of the best shows on Nick, but unfortunatly,the people at Nick are making it die for some stupid reason. Spongebob and Avatar are 2 absolutely freaking different shows! Spongebob is for people who want an easy laugh. And Avatar is for people who want something a little more mature. Avatar has a better plot and writing, but Spongebob has the most fans and support form people.

    So stop bashing each other with this. This is so freaking childish. It's just the KCA! Nobody cares! This isn't the Oscars or the Emmys, or (for the love of god) the grammys. It's a stupid, childish, waste of time on the "orange carpet." You can't tell people to get off of polls. I have some moderator friends on this site, and I can get them here faster than you can say KCA. So stop fighting! It's really getting annoying.
