Spongebob's orientation is not a matter for us to debate. Sure, we can point to an abundance of evidence that would lead the rational thinker to believe he bats for his own team, but really, it's unimportant. I am amazed at how much anger abounds on this forum. We all love him, don't we? It doesn't matter whether he is gay straight, or a sponge in drag. What matters is he is a good sponge who cares about his friends, and that makes him ok in my book.

I have to agree with that. The only time that any gayness comes into question for me is in Rock-a-bye-bivalve. That is where Spongebob and Patrick become parents to a baby clam. I mean come on, Spongebob is in a dress in this epidsode. If that is not a sign that he may or may not be gay then I don't know what its. However, I do believe that he is asexual and loves everybody just the same.

Although Spongebob is not gay in most episodes , he was in Valentine`s Day . The gift should have been to Sandy , or any other girl .

As far as the coming out part is concerned, unfortunately, a gay character won't come out on an American kids show.
Not yet, anyways. This upsets me because frankly, people who don't want that are preventing kids from knowing that there are all sorts of people in the world and the differencesarea part of life.
That's not to say we need anything explicit!
(Sorry, an old girlsfriend and I are talking as I write this and she's kinda a perv)
On the original topic, I think he's too much of a kid at heart tolook for anything more than a friend.

I don`t mean Sandy . It could be any female . It would make a great episode when Spongebob gets a girlfriend , and Patrick gets jealous , so he starts spying .
