Just because they are jokes does not mean it could eventually really happen in the show, some jokes can hint some things that will really end up coming true. Even if SpongeBob liking Squidward was homosexual humor in the show, I don't really see any difference, because if SpongeBob was joking around saying he likes Squidward he could've just as easily meant it too. Not everything in a comedy show is a joke, some stuff is the real deal. I just won't deny the possibility of SpongeBob and Squidward secretly liking each other. SquidBob rulez! Besides some animated comedy shows can have relationships formed too you know, or at least some love and romance. Have you ever heard of romantic comedies? Camp Lazlo was a comedic cartoon show where in some episodes some love and romance sparked up between Lazlo and Patsy.
Even though that was a straight reference about love/romance in a cartoon show, with all the homosexuality news and happenings spreading around these days, pretty soon for the first time in a comedic cartoon show there could always be the possible chance that there will be love and romance again, but with two guys liking each other. SpongeBob and Squidward could be the very first star homosexual relationship in a kids show, and again it can be very appropriate and subtle with no kissing or any of that, they could just end up liking each other, the word love won't be used, and just hang out at places and have a good time. No matter how unlikely it sounds, something abnormal like that can happen, even in a cartoon show thats for kids, as long as you know the right technique to keep things appropriate.
SpongeBob SquarePants is just like a stage show in real life where a person that is doing stand up comedy, and while he's telling all of these jokes, even some homosexual ones, he is hiding the secret from the crowd that he really is in love with another man. And then all of a sudden the guy he likes walks up on the stage and they both decide to reveal a big suprise to the crowd that they are in love. SpongeBob SquarePants can be just like that where after telling off some good jokes, SpongeBob and Squidward will eventually reveal their innermost secrets.

Hey guys! What about Sandy. There are some episodes when Sandy is present, Spongebob usually take great pains to impress her. Like the episode Ripped Pants. Do you think Spongebob like Sandy than a sister or a friend? Me,I think so I'm a Spandy fan |

please, this is never gonna happen, get it out of your mind, eat it, puke it up, step on it, and send it to the dumpster.
It's a sick twisted fantisy, and that won't help you to make friends on a sponge forum.
I'm a mental f*** to, but that is just sick!

Squidward and SpongeBob are still meant to be together, they are a perfect homosexual match. A lot of kids these days know what gay means and have seen and/or heard about some gay relationships and references, some kids don't mind it at all. It's something you're used to hearing about these days. Some guys just end up loving other guys. Even if SpongeBob SquarePants is a kids show and not for adults, a few gay references and jokes should be harmless since adults watch the show too, and you know how much adult humor there was back in seasons 1-3. SpongeBob and Squidward just love to hide their true love and feelings inside of each other, Squidward just does a better job at hiding it. SpongeBob and Squidward forever! There's a first time for everything and that is a gay relationship or at least some gay love and romance in an animated comedy show, even one that is aimed at little kids. Sea sponges don't have to be Asexual in a cartoon show. |

Dont forget what spongebob said in Sandy's rocket
SpongeBob: Sandy. I forgot about her. She's gonna hate us for stealing her rocket. But won't she feel silly when I bring home a real live alien? Aww, she'll love me!
