I think SquidBob is a good match, but to be appropriate for kids they could just date each other or hang around a lot together. Besides there's some friends I know from school that don't find anything wrong with gay relationships, and seem to be into them. Sometimes not all relationships are meant to be straight, no matter how wrong the pairing sounds. I'm sure many more love secrets in Squidward and SpongeBob towards each other will be revealed in future episodes. Look at how much evidence was revealed in 20,000 Patties Under The Sea.
No offense, Princess_Toph, but what you're saying is giving me the creeps. How would anything like that be appropriate for kids? SpongeBob and Squidward have never been THAT close.

Gay relationships are not unfriendly towards kids, me and some of my friends from school aren't creeped out by gay people, and we are just entering our teenage years. I think SpongeBob liking Squidward is one of the few adult themes left in this show after the movie. Squidward may really dislike SpongeBob, but again, he could secretly love him, there are many deep dark secrets you want to confine in your mind and heart that you wish to keep to yourself unless you are ready to give out that information. Besides there are some signs that could be possible about Squidward, like when he acted all nice and loving in Breath of Fresh Squidward, and he also said "SpongeBob, no matter what I've said, I've always sort of liked you" in The Graveyard Shift. He does act nice towards SpongeBob too on rare occasions. He could be just hating on SpongeBob to hide his secrets like Helga Pataki did in Hey Arnold!

As for SpongeBob its obvious he likes Squidward with definite signs past the movie, like saying I like Squidward in a flirty tone, and him always wanting to be around Squidward, he also acted funny towards him in Boating Buddies.

Yes i like Brokeback Mountain and The Village People, and I think SpongeBob and Squidward are one good perfect slash pairing, no matter how crazy it sounds. Hey everyone's got their own opinions, and I happen to think and want SpongeBob and Squidward to be together and be happy and go out to places. I love the whole idea of SpongeWard or SquidBob, some people are gay its a fact of life, and a lot of people know about it these days, even some kids. Me thinking SpongeBob and Squidward are meant to be in love is my own personal opinion, no matter how creepy it sounds, and I would love it if some future episodes came with SpongeBob and Squidward admitting their true feelings on how they love each other.

The bolded parts make me wonder if you possess any logic or sort of reasoning.

And yeah, it's your opinion if you want to pair up an octopus who has shown obvious feelings for women with a sponge who has fallen in love with a patty (a supposed female one at that)...

Did it ever cross any of your minds that SpongeBob actually ADMIRES Squidward. What would ever give any of you the thought that he loves Squidward in a gay way, and that Squidward actually loves him back? SpongeBob just sees Squidward as the kind of smart person he wish he could be, and sees him as one of his closest friends. I too see that Squidward actually likes SpongeBob also and sees him as one of his only friends, but he could never get over the fact that he annoys the heck out of him,, so loving would never happen.

Plus it would be better if SpongeBob and Sandy became a couple. 1 becuase Sandy's a female, 2 because Sandy seems to be the only female that actually likes hanging around SpongeBob, and 3 because it would be way more appropriate than Sponge and Squid.

Of course they have logic and reasoning, you have absolutely no idea whether or not Squidward is hiding secrets that he likes SpongeBob, and I only remember one episode where Squidward was attracted to a female, and that was That's No Lady. The rest of the time Squidward's just been doing his own things around his house and not talking with any ladies. SpongeBob loving a krabby patty doesn't count because its an inaminate object, when an episode is shown where SpongeBob is showing signs of love towards a real living sea creature woman, then that would be good enough proof to use. Even if Squidward loves another woman, that still doesn't change the fact that he still could secretly be in love with SpongeBob. SpongeBob and Squidward have been hiding their true feelings for each other from the start, you never know when Nick will be daring enough to premiere an episode showing Squidward and SpongeBob's true feelings towards each other, even if it is something small like them getting along and wanting to go out and do things and have fun, like going swimming over at Goo Lagoon.

I'm about to prove all of you wrong.

A joke is a short story or ironic depiction of a situation communicated with the intent of being humorous. These jokes will normally have a punchline that will end the sentence to make it humorous. A joke can also be a single phrase or statement that employs sarcasm. The word joke can also be used as a slang term for a person or thing which is not taken seriously by others in general. A practical joke or prank differs from a spoken one in that the major component of the humour is physical rather than verbal (for example placing salt in the sugar bowl).

Jokes are typically for the entertainment of friends and onlookers. The desired response is generally laughter; when this does not happen the joke is said to have "fallen flat".

there not signs, there jokes. Spongebob's an asexual.Princess, by you saying that, you scarred half of my life, but luckily, the bad half.

Geesh, Princess_Toph, you're starting to creep ME out, I know I said I liked SquidBob but do you really think it would be suitable for the show? Kids watch this, you know, plus them as friends, just friends (nothing else) would ruin a theme of the show, the whole "SpongeBob bothers Squidward" thing, it would be like giving SB his driving license, it would ruin that from the show.

Yeah, I agree Let's save those kind of relationships for shows that have more adult viewers, like Family Guy.

Yeah, there were adult jokes in the older seasons, but they were sort of hidden, and a kid wouldn't really get it. But SquidXSponge on a KIDS show....everyone knows what homosexuality is these days, and teaching little kids about it is a good thing, but not on a harmless TV show.

It may be a kids show, but gay relationships are a common subject nowadays, and even some little kids are seeing or hearing about some Gay references. You guys are just keeping slamming poor SquidBob down, well then that means sometimes some gay people in relationships need to fight for their rights. Squidward and SpongeBob may be cartoon characters, but they still should be allowed to like each other. SpongeBob, Squidward, and Patrick can all get together and live happily ever after by even starting their very own The Village People band. Well if Gay relationships are frowned upon so much on a kid show status like SpongeBob SquarePants, then the show creators can just have little kids learning about how sometimes two men can end up loving each other and want to spend more time with them, and to be appropriate as possible they can just show SpongeBob and Squidward starting to be happy around each other and just go out to certain places a lot more often, they can even have a possible future episode showing SpongeBob and Squidward both odering lunch from the Shell Shack. The fact is sometimes love will end up being like that, no matter how wrong it sounds. You just can't win by denying the fact SpongeBob and Squidward are hiding their true feelings for each other.

Well I think my interpretation can be correct, Squidward just needs to show some more signs for it to be evidence he really likes SpongeBob. It may be disturbing to you guys but i love the whole idea of a nice SpongeBob and Squidward slash pairing, SquidBob rulez!

Man, you're a creep. I know it's your opinion, but you should keep it to yourself. I mean you're trying to convince everyone here that two male characters on a show directed at kids are madly in love with each other and are gay SpongeBob and Squidward ar NOT gay they're not gonna get together because it's a kids show and that's NEVER gonna happen.
