let me introduce you to a little something called google .

there are WAY more naruto fansites than avatar ones. so many that there's little point it actually trying to set up a webring for them. if avatar was as popular as you seem to think it is, it would have gotten better ratings and ended up with better timeslots.

But I thought we established that the low ratings are the fault of Nickelodeon under-advertising it? And causing people to lose interest because of the long wait? And that Day of Black Sun, in it's 7/8 timeslot, at least beat "I Love New York 2" in the ratings? And that "Secret of the Fire Nation" was the #1 cable television event that week?

Well there's the obvious one. I tried to do the one from Red vs. Blue where the discussion ended with why were they in the sun when they could be in the shade.

i began by searching info on Code Lyoko, since season 2 just ended here at that time, and found Tv.com, then i started searching for info on other shows, and i noticed that somethings were missing in the xiaolin showdown trivia, so i thought "maybe i should join" after a few weeks, i finally joined, and after a few months i began to post on the Yu-Gi-Oh! forums, and eventually after danny phantom ended, i came here.

hmmm.. this is what I think

    popularity/more fansites =/= better show

I mean look at the current popular show now: desperate housewives, american idol, high school musical (wtf?), the hills, smarter than a 6th grader.

I couldn't care less if avatar is the most popular or the least popular show on TV. same goes for Naruto. For me, it all boils down to what I like and my personal tastes. I don't need confirmation from other ppl that a show is "good". I'll decide if I like it, thank u very much.

PS, this is not directed at anyone, just felt like stating meh opinion

I was bored one day so i thought id go to the internet. I was being dumb, so i thought id type in a pretty simple name, such as tv.com. little did i no, it was an actual site with actual rlly cool ppl. i didnt join for about 3 months and then i joined, and got avatar on my faovrite shows list first thing.

it WAS of course after the COD and the long wait, which explains my boredom and need to talk to u all for answers.

I come here every once in awhile for brief amounts of time to find out when the next episodes will air (which happens a painful number of times). This forum thus is associated with pain.

EDIT: Also been here since TVTome. Actually been watching Avatar ever since I saw the 2nd episode of the show (when it premiered, new in the US) on TV.

No, I'm not some kind of philospher seeking to understand the mysteries of the universe, what I'm asking is why are you here, as in on TV.com.

As we all know, Avatar has a huge fanbase, what I want to know is why. I know it's an epic show and whatnot, but there are lots of other epic shows, and they don't become an internet phenomenon. What I'm asking is why did you come here in the first place? What made you decide to come to TV.com to discuss Avatar: The Last Airbender?

How did you first find out about this place? Why did you stay? If you've migrated from another fansite, why?

So, basically, what made you want to be part of a forum community for Avatar: The Last Airbender?

closet fan. busy on friday nights. so i watch avatar on the internet if i cant catch it on nick. unfortunately for nick, they dont re-air episodes, and so out of the last 35-40 eps, i have probably seen 5 of them on tv. I hate all other shows on nick, so i have also never really seen a commercial for avatar. i use this awesome forum to discuss the show I love and figure out when the next episode will air, so I can catch it on the internet that weekend (assuming I can't watch it that Friday night). I also like the forum to discuss the episodes and find out news about upcoming episodes.

I'm a self-converted Avatard. I came to the site from TvTome with the Jimmy Neutron fanfase... but I switched to Avatar a month after the S2 finale aired, so while everyone else was agonizing over when S3 was going to air, I was getting caught up. I'd seen the first episode, but I wasn't into it... took me a while. Imprisoned, with Haru, was the first episode I watched that actually got me hooked.

I'm here because... mostly I like reading what other people say about Avatar, and I like being updated on what's going on.

Well, let's see...I'd visited tv.com before, in its previous incarnation(tvtome), mostly to look up information on shows that I'd enjoyed as a kid. Anyway, once things switched to tv.com, I registered so I could keep track of my favorite shows, but didn't participate in the forums. When I got hooked onto Avatar towards the end of Season 2, the first thing I did was check tv.com and Wikipedia for information on the characters, plot, etc(since I was pretty lost and needed to catch up). Again, still wasn't participating in the forums. But then when I realized that they(Nick) weren't showing any new episodes(at the time, I thought Avatar was still showing new episodes every Friday), I visited the forums to see what was up. And now I stick around for further updates(when, oh WHEN?!) and have even begun posting to alleviate my AWS(as I believe another poster said). Plus, I've found there's just some dang cool people here who are just as off-kilter as I am.

the reason SOTFN was so popular was because they had commercials going for it for like 2 months in advance. They announced "secret of the fire nation" during the airing of library/desert. SOTFN is proof that advertising is what gets ratings. Advertising tells everyone when an episode will air. Keep in mind there is a whole group of kids younger than us that like avatar just as much but are unaware of the magical powers of the internet and that you can find out anything and everything you want to know on the internet. Along with their ignorance due to age, their parents probably wouldnt allow them on forums because we might be sexual predators (obviously people our age know better than to be sexual prey). It is these kids that need commercials to get the notice that a new avatar episode is coming out and then they boost the ratings by watching it.

I've been coming to TV.com for a while (even when it was TVtomes) and I never knew it had forums. So when I was on Gaia, someone started a particularly pervy Avatar conservsation and said they got it from.. the Psychology of Avatar (what was the original title?) and they posted a link. So I lurked just on that thread for a while until I realized "Holy sh*t! There are more threads relating to Avatar!" *is slow* I finally made an account and started posting more and more. And well, here I am!
