I was on tv.com before I became and Avatar fan, so it was pretty natural to check out the Avatar forums here once I became interested. The topics seemed interesting, so I kept coming back. I originally joined tv.com because I wanted to submit some stuff to an episode guide... for M*A*S*H I think. It was a bit random since I had not been involved in any online sites for a while before that, but I had been using the site a lot to look up T.V. info. But yeah... that's how I ended up talking about Avatar online.

Well I intentially came to the internet to look for Episodes. Because Holland is so Damn slow in showing them. I wanted to catch up with the rest of the world (the States to be exact).

So I found those episodes and had noone to talk to about them. I came here a few times and read through the forums, but I didn't sign into TV.com yet. Eventually I did and that has started it all for me. Although I did waited about a month orso to make my first post here on the forums.

even online, avatar's fanbase is realatively small compared to, say bleach, naruto, teen titans, etc. i still don't get why you guys think this fandom is so huge. it's really not.
It seems huge? I don't think there's a concrete way to know the size of a fandom, lest you really want to try to find out. Not saying I think it's huge, but it could be.

Fansites are designed by 'people' aka 'fans.'

There are so many Avatar fan websites that there is an Avatar fansite devoted JUST to the categorizing of the many fansites, both in the US and abroad.

That's a lot of people and a lot of fansites.

    http://avatarfansites.itopsites.com/

I would challenge you or any other other forum member to show us ANY other show with this many fan websites, including shows that are like 20 years old...like the original Star Trek, etc. ANY show...just post the links to the fansites...LOL

Man this is going to take me back.

Well I came here about the later days of TVTome. I was surfing the net at the time looking for any kind of behind the scenes info I could find about shows like digimon and power rangers(so what if I use to like them, wanna fight about it).

Well one thing led to another and I found myself here at TVTome. I was amazed at all the information I could find about power rangers both in show and behind the scenes(major props to editor Sirstack)

So naturally if this one show had so much information, I wanted to see what other shows I could find little gems of information about. This led to many afternoons of learning several things about several different shows.

Well, unfortunately for me I was diagnosed with leukemia and had to go through chemotheropy for at least seven months, so I really didn't feel like going onto the internet at that time.

When I went into remission I came back to find the site changed from TVTOME to just TV.com. That didn't stop me from searching the new shows that came on during the time of my illness. One of those shows just show happen to be avatar.

When I visited the forum, I saw several interesting discussions and comments. So I decided to finally join TV.com so I can post on the forums. Ironically, I never had anything interesting to say and felt overwhelmed. So I stayed a forum stalker.

Just recently I decide to post a few to see if I would like it when Lisa31468 responded with a very nice comment. Well it may sound cheesy, but Lisa gave me some courage to keep posting.

So, this became my forum of choice(Naruto a close second) and have enjoyed every minute of it.

wow, that's cool. Hope you are doing good health-wise. Lisa is awesome (always comes up with cool topics, comments, and I love her sig). I don't come on here as much as I used to with work and school, but I lurk when I can. Welcome to the dysfunctional-at-times-but-bonded-by-our-common-love-for-A:TLA family!

sadly i started on nick.com looking at the episode summarys and characters in april 2005, but then i searched avatar fansites on google and then it led to avatar spirit, dongbufeng and tv.com, and then i statred to look through it without an account and stareted watching all the episodes i missed and then in june 2005 i made an account by another name and then i got bored on that cause i was still level 3 after 1 year and 500 posts, so i stopped going onto my accound and then recently in march, i made this one

Thanks:] Right now i just have to take these chemo pills and by the end of the year I will be done with my treatments and I should be cured(I was lucky it was curable). I will probably try to post more topics if I come up with them.

Good to hear your health is on the up. That is wonderful!

I know what you mean about topics-it's hard to come up with ones that haven't been done before.....and getting that horrible "In before the lock".....

I actually searched for Code: Lyoko around Nov. 2005, and when I saw episode summaries, I read them. I wanted to correct mistakes (there were lots lol) but it said I needed to be a member. I joined some time later, and discovered Avatar (after trolling the Power Rangers forums for a bit)

I arrived during the great Avatar famine of '07. It was great reading posts and finding more about the upcoming season. I started posting fairly recently, because it's a good treatment for AWS.

As for philisophically; Cogito ergo sum. I think, therefore I am (here).

well i had started watching avatar from the beginning (season premiere), which, ironically, i learned about watching a spongebob episode. anyways, loved the show, so i eventually went to nick.com for more info, etc. of course nick didn't have all the information, such as episode airdates, titles, etc. so i googled avatar: the last airbender. the first search was for tv.com, so i clicked it. came here, and i got alot of useful information. this was however, back in 05. i didn't notice the forum button (silly me ), until 2 years later. i saw all this and i tried to post , until it told me i had to be a member. so i joined, and now i'm here.

This may sound weird, but no origin may sometimes be the best origin of all(akatsuki member Hidan of naruto if you know what I meen):]
