piranhapete, I don't think that matters. Replace guns with "spears" or vic versa: there are plenty of spears in the show, they don't add any creative value, so why should they not be removed? Guns are just a prop, just like many of the other weapons in the show: it doesn???t add or subtract any "creative value". A good example was the anime ???Grenadier??? which props consider of lots and lots of guns (and big boobs) the show was quit creative despite the fact it had guns and bullets coming out of ever nook and cranny on some characters (literally). What you should be asking is how would guns fit with the board of executives at nickelodeon. |

Its seems that it wouldn't be very far out of the realm of possibility for guns. They already have grenades and locomotives even gas powered tanks. How would characters react to them? Would they be broken in power? Who would make them first? Would Nick aprove? What do you think. Probably either FN or the inventor would build them. |
one word: nickelodeon.
nickelodeon wouldnt approve theyre a kids television network and dont approve of shows with a lot of violence. the only bloodshed(if you can even call it that) ive seen on nick was in DP. and it was shaded green, yes to represent ectoplasm, but also to throw off the younger audience. Also you could say that in S2 (in one of the first episodes) of ATLA zuko got scratched and blood came but that was minor. and also aang got shot by lightning and blood came. but the important thing for nick is to apparently make the violent ways of their shows so unrealistic that little kids will not be influenced by the cartoon characters' actions. nick is a kids channel and that will not change easily. also the grenades had more knockback than explosive power and the locomotives had firebenders in them not an ak-47. having guns in the avatar world is probably unlikely.
