if there were guns in avatar then the show would be ruined cause then thered be no need for bending. its like rurouni kenshin, where ppl fought with swords in an era that had guns, and it kind of messed up the show cause if ppl need to protect themselves, no idiot would choose a sword or a bending power over a gun

I think the weapons used by the FN is fair enough.

Really though Tanks and flying machine but no guns doesn't make much sense. If it weren't for those I would exept that but in northern air temple they decided to get all technical on us. So why not guns is nick afraid of guns perhaps.

It has always kind of bugged me how advanced the FN tanks are. I mean, they can flip rightside up if the get knocked over, and the can climb cliffs and even if they fall off, then they just shook another hook. They are more advanced then modern tanks it seems like. No tank I know of can do any of that.

I dunno. I think the commoners should get some guns. All the benders don't really need it. They got pure ninja talent.

instead of guns i just wish there were more physical action in the fights, such as punches and kicks, but it wouldnt really make much of a difference cause avatar is perfect right now

i say no to guns in Avatar. you guys always forget that Avatar is a kid's show! so, no!

Think of it from a social development standpoint: if you lived on a planet with a large percentage of the population having telekinetic powers, whom of which also control the government and funding for technological development, why would they develop guns? Why would you want a loud cumbersome weapon with limited ammunition when a large percentage of the armed forces already have the ability to lobby projectiles of virtually infinite ammunition? The argument might be like the bow and arrow, why was that drop over the gun, well the bow and arrow required significant training to operate effectively, thus limiting it to a small class of anchors, the gun require far less (especially little reliance on physical strength) and can be fired by any grunt. The bow and arrow though does not have nearly the capabilities of any of the telekinetic powers shown on avatar, nor the gun for that matter, the idea of some simpleton taking down a bender probably does not sound to good to the ruling classes or the armies full of proud benders. The knights and samurais could not stop the power of the gun in the end, but the benders of this fantasy world have far more power (literally). That brings me to my final point, why are there no guns in avatar? Cause the writers willed it that way, discussion over.

I say "go to a different show"! Avatar is about creativity, not loud obnoxious instant-death tools! No guns!

I'm sure Nick would aprove of guns............. as long as they were lasers... or stunners...

Also, Nick's projected audience for Avatar is 9-11. That doesn't mean a high percentage of viewers are older than that, but it does mean Nick will market the show for that age range and will not allow gun violence.
