I have no opinion for Ginger. I never got into it, so I can't say it's an awful show. I hung onto DP. So, it's ghost DNA...nothing has to make sense in the animation world. As stated, it's opinion. I thought it was a pretty cool idea- besides, I believe Hartman intended the 'ghosts' not to actually be about 'the dead,' but rather an 'alternate universe' altogether...so Danny, and Vlad, wouldn't be considered hald-dead. Plus, the show wasn't at all bad and, at a point, I was into it enough to revolt against any earlier cancellation (which, suprisingly helped somewhat). Avatar, back then, was my lifeboat, since it began its first season and I hadn't officially thrown my life to it until season 2.
Jhonen was a smart man. A bit insane, but definately smart enough not to listen to those who wanted to change his view on humanity, as well as whatever his show displayed. He said he didn't need to argue so much about what to put, but I'm guessing that changed during IZ's final moments. There were some things that altered, I know it. Like killing Keef (friend obsessed kid) off- **Fun Fact** Exluding Avatar, Invader Zim is one, if not most, popular Nick show drawn/mentioned on DA. Seriously, search it and you get more results.
Yes, the treatment is all too similar with that of Avatar. Fortunately, the fact it had strong plots and a growing cult fanbase, along with devoted others- who happend to be former IZ fans, some of them- Avatar has been kept strong. Even with its poor schedule and few airings, the ratings seem to increase any time it is aired. We had more information by internet, than IZ fans had (I don't think they had as many reliable sites as we do now).
