It was just a horrible show.

Same with Danny Phantom (ghost DNA? Please... it was like watching the inner workings of the mind of Ed Wood).

Invader Zim was definately screwed over. In fact, Avatar is being screwed over in the exact same way. Both shows have a mature audiance with very little popularity in nick's target audience. So nick cancels it.

Course with Zim, nick tried to get JV to make Invader Zim more kid friendly... and then they were laughed out of JV's office.

Whats wrong with ghost DNA, obviously it sounds silly in real life, but wouldn't bending be regarded as silly to some as well?

No, ghost DNA is silly in any context, fictional or in real life. Ghosts are dead, therefore don't have DNA. Being "half ghost" is equally implausable by definition.

Bending, on the other hand, actually looks like it is possible.

I have no opinion for Ginger. I never got into it, so I can't say it's an awful show.

I hung onto DP. So, it's ghost DNA...nothing has to make sense in the animation world. As stated, it's opinion. I thought it was a pretty cool idea- besides, I believe Hartman intended the 'ghosts' not to actually be about 'the dead,' but rather an 'alternate universe' altogether...so Danny, and Vlad, wouldn't be considered hald-dead. Plus, the show wasn't at all bad and, at a point, I was into it enough to revolt against any earlier cancellation (which, suprisingly helped somewhat). Avatar, back then, was my lifeboat, since it began its first season and I hadn't officially thrown my life to it until season 2.

Jhonen was a smart man. A bit insane, but definately smart enough not to listen to those who wanted to change his view on humanity, as well as whatever his show displayed. He said he didn't need to argue so much about what to put, but I'm guessing that changed during IZ's final moments. There were some things that altered, I know it. Like killing Keef (friend obsessed kid) off- **Fun Fact** Exluding Avatar, Invader Zim is one, if not most, popular Nick show drawn/mentioned on DA. Seriously, search it and you get more results.

Yes, the treatment is all too similar with that of Avatar. Fortunately, the fact it had strong plots and a growing cult fanbase, along with devoted others- who happend to be former IZ fans, some of them- Avatar has been kept strong. Even with its poor schedule and few airings, the ratings seem to increase any time it is aired. We had more information by internet, than IZ fans had (I don't think they had as many reliable sites as we do now).

Fun fact: Bryan Konietzko storyboarded several ZIM episodes. Jhonen also gave him props, though I'm not certain if it's for Avatar, which I bet he probably did.

Kind of, they aired episodes with continuity OUT OF ORDER, and they had a nine month wait mid final season.

yeah, being a phantom phan at that time was worse than being an avatar fan now. before people start chasing me with sticks, im implying the wait. if it wasnt for the wait, i'd be a much happier fan.

I agree with you on that. The fact they knew the show was getting canceled (unlike Avatar, it wasn't a trilogy- it could've gone much further) made it worse enough. I felt deprived, and when episodes started coming for Avatar, I abandoned ship completely. Not that I didn't care for DP, afterward. I watched...hm...the episodes in Canada before the US...

    Hm...wait a minute.

It was worse because with DP, you didn't really know IF they would even air the rest of the episodes, but with Avatar, a show with a running story and a much higher fan base, it is really only a matter of WHEN.

lol as a DP fan I could tell you the whole story....I have never seen a show so screwed up. Thanks god I'm too an avatar fan XDD
1st they cancel the show leaveing the creator Butch Hartman to rush the whole story into only 13 episodes o_O so the 3rd season was really rushed up.
The 1st season 3 episode they air is the 5th one on the order :O they are nuts, everyone was confused XD then they don't air anything new in MONTHS, until Janueary where here, in Latinamerica, the firsts 5 real season 3 episodes are premiered, I mean they even had time to translate them all and air them first than the USA o_O
Then the rest of the episodes are aired in the UK, then in Canada, then in Latinamerica again (almost all).
Then they finally air some episodes in the USA, then Latinamerica shows the end of DP, and after so many months of waiting, USA has their finale.

Gosh, if that gets to happen to avatar too I will quit Nick.

Yep. It's really a good thing I got so drawn into Avatar, because otherwise I'd probably be an emo DP fan right now.

I didn't see TOO much of Zim, but I know they got majorly screwed, and it was a great show from what I saw. I'm gonna watch some more on youtube or something soon. I've heard it compared to Earthbound, which means it's bound to be totally awesome. Except Zim probably didn't have a major mindrape for an ending, but I haven't seen the finale, so...

anyone who's played Earthbound and seen a lot of Zim, do they have a lot in common, or was the guy I heard that from stupid? lol, I bet nobody's even played Earthbound here... Nintendo really screwed it over, too.

Zim didn't have a true finale. It was cancelled in the middle of a season, so the "finale" ended up being a Christmas special. The only thing about it that provided any closure at all was the fact that it was a flashback from 2000 years in the future or something like that (it's either 200 or 2000) and Zim still hadn't taken over the earth.
