One of the most epic episodes of the series thats for sure. Tiny Sokka and Katara are so cute, and the story was amazingly told.

Mother's don't seem to last long in this show do they?

this is very similar to what zuko's mother did...(though she may still be alive)

I hope we get to see Iroh before the "movie" but it looks like the players are going to fill that epi with more humor and ship than you can shake a stick at...

well, maybe if we get a spin off it'll be the Irho and the locuts....or something about tea...

Lmao. Hmm, you've got a good point between the correlation of Zuko's mom and Katara's mom. They both sacrificed to protect their children. I'm guessing Zuko's mom is dead, seeing as Katara's mom is. I think they're solidly connected.

Wow. So a lot of our theories came true,

    1. Katara's mom is named Kya.
    2. Katara was definitely going to bloodbend.
    3. The ninja outfits were definitely going to be this episode.
    4. The Ember Island Players would be the episode where Aang confesses.
    5. Kya died because of Katara. (Believe it or not I've seen that theory on fanfiction.net. They said that Kya died because she pretended that she was a waterbender to protect Katara.)
    6. The play would trigger memories and emotions.

It looks like we were wrong after all about one thing though...
The Ember Island Players isn't just going to be a relief episode from all the drama. Infact, it will affect the whole fandom and Avatar plotline.

actually we've known that for a while, the last fact you stated. IN the last five minutes or so something big will happen

She actually wasn't angry at him remember? Aang asked her if she was angry at her father, and she said "What? Not at all. Why would you say that?", because that was just comic relief. You are right about Sokka getting over it more quickly though.

I definitely think that was in the top 3 episodes of the whole entire series. Here are my thoughts in a REALLY long post =]

    1. Katara blood bended:
The fact that Katara blood bended shows that she isn't as in control of her emotions as we all thought. She hates it when she does that, but in the episode, she barely even remarked on the fact that she did, which kind of confused me. Why didn't Zuko say something more? I hope he does later in the series. That would be interesting. But, anyway, Katara has some serious anger issues that no one really knew about.

    2. Katara not killing the man:
The fact that Katara didn't kill the man is very important. She's ethical enough not to kill someone. Her restraint, at the very end, was remarkable. In the end, she's more like Aang than we all thought. Maybe this foreshadows Aang with the Fire Lord? I've got no idea. All I know is that Katara can tell the difference between right and wrong.

    3. Zuko offering to help Katara:
Zuko is trying so hard to get everyone in the gAang to like him. But, when he was helping Katara and going against Aang, it almost dawned on me that Zuko hasn't changed much at all. He's less angry and he has a new purpose, but someone who changed as much as we all claimed he did wouldn't want to kill someone that they didn't even know. You know what I mean? I think, when it comes down to it, Zuko wants to help the Avatar, but he himself hasn't changed.

    4. Sokka:
AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! Take that Tokka lovers. That scene in the tent was priceless, lmao. 5. Aang's reaction:
I think the fact that Aang had realized that killing was not the answer means that he is becoming more of an actual Avatar everyday. He knows, from experience, that killing out of revenge does nothing. This kind of squashes my hope that he'll kill the Fire Lord over Katara's death, if that ever happens. Aang is mature past his 112 years of existence =p 6: What Zuko said to Aang at the end:
That was completely epic, ahahaha. Aang must be torn, now. I don't think he ever looked at Ozai as an actual person. He's always just been a symbol of hatred and destruction, not an actual being. Now that Zuko phrased what Aang had been trying to do all along in that way, Aang is starting to doubt his decision. I wonder what will happen now? I don't have a doubt in my mind that he'll fight the Fire Lord, but what will convince him?

Overall, epic episode beyond belief. The beginning was a bit too long and the more epic parts could've been drawn out, but that's okay. 9.5/10

I can't believe they actually alluded to Sokka trying to get some action. This show never ceases to amaze me. The writers must be censorbenders or something.

Great story, great execution, great lines, great humor, great fight, great innuendo, great episode.

I guess it wasn't anger, but she was more emotionally distraught about it than Sokka. Plus, she only told Aang that to get him off her back, I think. Katara, in my little world, seems to feel that her emotions are hers and no one elses. She rarely talks about what hurts her, like her mother. We've never seen this angry side of Katara before because she hides it so well. I don't think she would tell Aang about her anger towards her father.

I remember The Avatar and the Firelord being kept secret due to how dark the episode was supposed to be. I found this to be a lot darker. It answered a lot, like why Katara aeemed to be slightly distant with Hakoda. Or that might be me. But I could see her also blaming him for not getting back to Kya fast enough.

Plus the funny moments. It was really balanced I think.

It was beautiful, wasn't it? By far much better than DOBS, in my opinion. That was a little bit of a let down. Too much fighting. Even when fighting occured in this episode, there were other things that provoked the fighting that were to be evaluated. In DOBS it was just "Get to the Fire Lord". In this episode there's more of a deeper meaning.
