But the mass veiwers, specially kids, don't want that. It's true it does get annoying, but it's still good.

i think the good guys dont always win. That was SO season 1. Season 2 has rocked, it has been great full greatness. They won at a price in SOTN (ALL HAIL SOTN!), and Zuko does not always win in life. Aang has an interesting story, he abandoned his people, they lost that battle. We havent seen them lose, but they will. I agree, it got annoying in season 1, but think about Omashu. There are chances for it not to happen this season.

the only thing I dislike is that the good guys always win don't get me wrong but I just wish that it wasn't obvious at the end the good guys always win and all ends well of course I know it's on Nick but still I just wish their was a chance Zuko would capture aang, Katara wouldn't get ger way(that is real rare),Aang actualy might lose against the firelord, someone in the trio will die(i hope this doesn't happen),etc. please don't call me evil and say I am wrong it's just my opinion please do not harass it

totally agree. i mean, granted, it is nick, we probably won't see blood or anything like that, but if something drstic happened, like if zuko caught aang and then there was some sort of turning point for zuko about wether to turn him in or not (or i don't know something like that. maybe another blue-spirit-y episode, you know?) i guess, since it's still technically a kid's show, it's always going to have the good-triumphs-evil motif going on. if it didn't, i think it would really kick the show up another notch, but that's just me.

by the way, i LOVE your sig.

    Aang has been defeated before:
lost to Jet, Katara saves him
lost to Yu Yan Archers, Zuko as Blue Spirit saves him
lost to Azula in the chase, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Toph, and Iroh all helped out
lost to Azula in SOFTN, was able to come back though and escape
    tied with Bumi
numerous close battles with Zuko that he usually ran from

I have seen this thread in almost every forum I've been on. Why do the good guys always win? Because tv wants to project the image that it does. If evil wins even a third of the time people would get depressed and stop hoping. We know that evil does not always win but showing that good does inspires people in the real world that there is hope.
but come it's the real world and there is real things bad sometimes wins good sometimes win and we hope good will win but in a show it's good to see the real thing that good doesn't always win.

Well, good hasn't been winning for the past 100 years on Avatar. And what would happen if, after watching 60 episodes and cheering Aang on, he loses? What a waste of time, right?
he is right. I mean suppose you are the avatar. How would feel losing. Or getting your friends kill?

Most of you mentioned this, but Aang and crew don't "win" all the time.?? Sometimes they experience what is called a "pyrrhic victory".?? A pyrrhic victory is defined as a victory which comes at devastating cost to the victor.????The good guys??may have won the battle at the North Pole but at a terrible price, the death of Princess Yue.?? But yeah, it's obvious that ultimately, good will prevail.?? In fact, one requirement of the CCA (Comics Code Authority) is that good must always be depicted as triumphant over evil.?? The CCA regulates comic books in a manner similar to the way the FCC regulates television, which explains why Batman and Spider-Man always beat the bad guys.

I was using that as a comparison to illustrate the significance of media depiction of good triumphing over evil. Obviously, that just went over your head.

    I agree with you.

But imagine what would one's reaction be if the creators ended the show with the Fire Nation taking over the whole world without peace being restored? Terrible

But interesting nonetheless. I'd like to point out that there is a 100 year old war going on with what must be at least 1000s of deaths that have occurred because of it.

Yeah. Like in Power Rangers. The bad guy wins twice a season, if that much. Then the PR's just get more uber with a new giant robot.

In fact, with the bad luck they've been having, they're just a step away from being complete losers. (not including Boiling Rock)
