the only thing I dislike is that the good guys always win don't get me wrong but I just wish that it wasn't obvious at the end the good guys always win and all ends well of course I know it's on Nick but still I just wish their was a chance Zuko would capture aang, Katara wouldn't get ger way(that is real rare),Aang actualy might lose against the firelord, someone in the trio will die(i hope this doesn't happen),etc. please don't call me evil and say I am wrong it's just my opinion please do not harass it

I have seen this thread in almost every forum I've been on. Why do the good guys always win? Because tv wants to project the image that it does. If evil wins even a third of the time people would get depressed and stop hoping. We know that evil does not always win but showing that good does inspires people in the real world that there is hope.

but come it's the real world and there is real things bad sometimes wins good sometimes win and we hope good will win but in a show it's good to see the real thing that good doesn't always win.

Well, good hasn't been winning for the past 100 years on Avatar. And what would happen if, after watching 60 episodes and cheering Aang on, he loses? What a waste of time, right?

hmmmm....well we can take comfort in the fact that Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko (supposedly, heard this somewhere) look around at the forums and stuff where fans post....perhaps they will see this thread and add a twist....
Zuko: Or maybe they'll just run away screaming from all the fangirls....
Me: --;;; Do you always have to be pesimistic Zuko...?
    Zuko: Not pesimistic....realistic...
Me: Yeah well, you and Sokka have that in common....

Well, yeah, of course. But I'm saying that if Aang lost, what would the message be? I think sending out the message "try as hard as you can, you'll still lose against bigger power" is worse than "good conquers evil."

They did win at the end of Seige of the north part 2, but at a price, Yue died, so, they won and lost at the same time

i agree with daisy girl. it'd make a grety twist, as long as aang ultimately won. he might be kidnapped in the season 2 begining or finale. and he did lose once, on kyoshi. the warriors bound and blindfolded him. they could have easily thrownhim into the ocean, unable to swim.

It woudl be nice to see him lose a few times. But then again, Aang is not invicible. It annoys the hell out of me when you see htese good guys that never lose and on top of that they're so cocky you're just dying for them to get their a** kicked! Aang is not one of those characters so it makes him seem more real.

Honestly in my opinion (And this is just my opinion, I'm not trying to make anyone think other than what they choose to think. so PLEASE don't be rude if you want to say something about this, whether it be agreeing or disagreeing. I respect both sides.) the Northern Water Tribe didn't win the battle, nobody truly and completely wins in war.

I'm what people consider to be a nerd, I don't look like one but I LOVE to read. So don't be surprised if I use a book for a good explanation of my reasons.

I'm a big fan of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. One of the many reasons is that Tolkien gets across just how horrible war really is, that there is no glory, that nobody truly wins. No matter what side you're on there will be loses; just think about the families of the dead, the lives of the maimed. You see this after the battle for Gondor at the end of The Return of the King. After that HUGE victory people were walking around the battlefield looking for dead family and friends and weeping when they found them.

War is a cruel game that wicked people force the chaste to play; a game of pain and horror that nobody ever truly wins.

    ~Okibi~

Unfortunetely, many would see war as a necessary evil. It's a part of life.

Yeah, I hope they don't make it obvious. I don't really care who wins the war, only if they do it in a creative way. I heard of a movie where the bad guys won! Isn't that a miracle?!

I did catch myself wondering what it would have been like if the last scene of part 1 of the Siege had been the last scene of part 2 instead-- in other words, the last thing we saw for the season. THAT would've made for an interesting twist.

All I want is a twist something that will never hit us the good guys will lose a fight, zutara will happen in a couple episodes that suprise you, zuko meets a girl and gets all fluffy, Jun,jet,Haru,Mend and some people will return, Zuko will join the trio and so on I do not mean to insult your opinions I am just thinking of some ways the show can be a little better for people who like my taste I can understand if you even think I am weird but I respect your opinion.
