There has been a report that the writers of Avatar: The Last Airbender are currently on strike, and although all the episodes have been created prior, they will not air any more until the strike is over. Chapter 14 of Book 3 will not be released until further notice. I will try to keep updates. Thank you.

The writers strike ended a while ago.

And why would they strike if the series is already created? What would that do?

simon and schuster will release the book "Sozin's comet: the final battle" May 20th

so finale will be May 16th or 1 or 2 weeks earlier

anything else would be senseless rumors

we get two types, the ones who every week they say "314 airs next Friday" and the ones who say finale will be Many Months away, in order to look like heroes if it comes earlier

in Canada as they tend to do ONE EPISODE AT A TIME even when it was DOBS (I put them doing one hour for DOBS and Boiling rock just in case)

    Feb 15 306
    Feb 22 307
    Feb 29 308
    March 7 309
    March 14 310(310 and 311?)
    March 21 311 (or 312?)
    March 28 312 (or 313?)
    April 4 313 (or 314 and 315?)
    April 11 314 (or 316?)
    April 18 315 (or 317?)
    April 25 316 (or finale??)
    May 2 317?
    May 9 Finale?

USA NICK (according to a friend who has an inside source) as he was told 312 would air in April in the USA, and there are only 2 possible dates in order to be before the book

    April 4 312 (or nothing?)
    April 11 313 (or 312?)
    April 18 314-315 (or 313?)
    April 25 316 (or 314-315?)
    May 2 317 (316?)
May 9 Finale(or 317?)11 days ahead of Simon and Schuster book and most likely so that it will be same day as YTV
May 16 (Finale? just before the Simon and Schuster book)

we don't know since they didn't show how he died and we don't know if those soldiers were firebenders or not. Most likely he sucked the air out of their lungs or airbended sharp rocks through their chests

He could have used airbending to throw them hard enough against the walls/ground.

Where did you hear that? The overall writers' strike is over and even if it were just the Avatar writers on strike (which is pretty unlikely), it wouldn't really make sense or keep Nick from airing the episodes. Honestly, Nick is a business and it really wouldn't care. The episodes are completely done, therefore making the writers completely nonessential to the show's future progress since all the show needs to do is air. Nick isn't just going to hold the episodes from showing because they really care about the writers, especially if they went on strike since their whole point would be to do things to get the writers to come back to work.

Anyway, sucks about April though since April is when all of my other shows come back for their short little runs and I was kind of hoping for the show to air during March where I'll hardly have anything to watch.

Question: Will there be a Book 4 after Book 3? In other words, will the show continue after this season, or will it make an honorable end there? (Don't have time to search every post for the answer)

most people say that she is Hakoda's mom, that she happened to give the necklace to her Daughter-in-law(Katara's and Sokka's mom)and what makes people confused is when Katara says basically "the necklace was my Grandma's, Gran Gran gave it to my mom, than my mom to me"

I think she is the maternal grandmother, it just makes more sense that way.

    from Avatar Wikia

The necklace is in fact a betrothal necklace. 60 years before the events of the series, it was carved by Pakku of the Northern Water Tribe using Waterbending, and presented to a young Kanna as a token of affection. Kanna did not want to marry Pakku, however, and she fled to the Southern Water Tribe. She kept the necklace with her thereafter.

At an unknown later date, Kanna passed on the necklace to her daughter-in-law, the wife of her son Hakoda. After her death, the necklace passed on to the next generation, to the young Katara.

In "Imprisoned", Katara explained to Haru that she kept the necklace because it was the only thing she had left of her mother, although it wasn't enough. At the end of the episode, she lost the necklace while escaping from the Fire Nation prison, and it was found by Zuko.

In "The Waterbending Scroll", Zuko reveals that he has the necklace, and promises to return it to Katara if she will turn on Aang. Katara refuses, and Zuko keeps hold of the necklace.

In "The Fortuneteller", Aang makes a new necklace for her out of flowers and Sokka's fishing line. It is Katara's modelling while wearing this necklace that kick-starts Aang's crush on her in this and future episodes. In this episode, Katara is rarely seen wearing the new necklace, and it is never seen in later episodes.

In "Bato of the Water Tribe", Zuko gives the necklace to the bounty hunter June, whose Shirshu uses the scent from the necklace in order to track down Katara. In the bending duel at the end of the episode, Aang successfully recovers the necklace from Zuko and returns it to Katara, who thanks him with a kiss on the cheek.

In "The Waterbending Master", Yugoda realizes that Katara is Kanna's granddaughter by seeing the necklace - the old healer explains to Katara that Kanna was once from the Northern Water Tribe. The appearance of the necklace during Katara and Pakku's duel is what eventually convinces Pakku to put away his old prejudices and teach Katara Waterbending.

In "The Headband", while Katara is modeling her stolen Fire Nation outfit, she also wears the necklace. Aang comments on this, and so Katara reluctantly agrees to remove it since it is so obviously from the Water Tribe. -----------------------------

Chief Hakoda is the father of Katara and Sokka, son of Kanna, and the leader of the Southern Water Tribe. Hakoda is a talented ship and igloo builder, and weapons maker. Much of Sokka's ingenuity and craftiness he learned from his father.

No, but I think the first Avatar just had a urge to bend other elements, or watch an other bender and tried to copy and succeeded
