I just couldn't believe it, and sure enough it soon turned out to be a day-dream. But what were your initial reactions?

I just rewatched that episode a week ago or so, and I STILL thought it was real. I was in shock; I couldn't even think.

the second i saw Katara kissing back, i knew it was a daydream

What's your explanation for the finale kiss, then? I don't think that was all in Aang's head.

Um wtf is your problem, i knew that one was a fake kiss because there was no build up and the title is nightmares and daydreams...

Your reasoning was, "As soon as I saw Katara kissing back..." Katara was obviously kissing back in the finale. So that shouldn't have automatically told you that it was a day dream. the second i saw Katara kissing back, i knew it was a daydream

Your reasoning was that Katara was kissing back, therefore it was all a dream. In the finale, Katara was OBVIOUSLY kissing back, but that wasn't a dream.

Yeah, that's what I initially thought of the "kiss." The title was nightmares and daydreams, so this was a dream of Aangs.

Katara kissing back was wrong for that time, she would be surprised and pull back... in the finale they kissed each other, one didn't initiate it all the way like Aang did will all the other

It was a good end BUUUUUUUUT i still think having them just hold hands and look into the sun set (then same pan in to sun) would have been better- greatly due to fact there wasnt any developement from "Island Player's" and it would show they were close and definitely point to them being together in future. ALSO if they did then go on with the rumored 10 min-eps or wateva we could see them having progressed or just reached that stage.

Haha not in the least. I knew Kataang was going to happen way back but i had some faith that creators would try to atleast put SOME effort into the Katara in Kataang.

I agree. The whole EIP episode. to me, was pointless. I wish Katara just said, "Now isn't the right time" and leaving it at that, instead of saying she was confused and all that. And I feel like the Kataang relationship was one that needed some explanation on Katara's part. I thought the kiss was sweet and everything, but would have been nicer without the preceding EIP episode.

EIP was pretty pointless. However, it was really just a filler episodr that Bryke made to reach out to their fans. That little Kataang moment, though, was really random. It didn't really mateter in the finale much. Also, I think they just added in that little bit to give SOME sort of significance to the episode.

The episode was very much adressing areas of their show (as a parody of course ) that they had left ambiguous, were not properly adressed or simply bad (lol great divide ). A important part of this was the fact they had done basically no developement for Katara in the Kataang relationship. No- blushing twice does not count ppl. Not including DOBS because it was what i said it was in my post ages ago and repeated in EIP; she had not thought about Aang that way and was confused and incertain about the kiss and how she felt about him (i really thought that this was a good step by creators to finally adress this ship and develope on it). I remember getting SO MUCH cra*p when i said that, but like i said nxt ep and everything was the same again.

This episode was RIGHT before the finale and raised this question, which thank Avatar they did. It needed to have been addressed again in the finale and i see it as one of the things that when i look back at it now i am very disappointed about (though i loved Finale and entire show of course)

I really don't see Katara's hesitation in EIP as being significant at all. She was just telling Aang that it wasn't the right time - that they couldn't really be together until after the war had been won.

Once the war was over, Katara finally allowed the feelings for Aang that she'd been suppressing for the last 2 season

Blushing counts quite a lot. But, also, rewatch The Fortune Teller and Cave of Two Lovers. That's filled with Kataang. The first season was FULL of Kataang.

Mabye blushing doesn't count, but does cheek kissing, actual kissing, hugging every second episode, enjoying the heck out of dancing together, long looks of gazing wonder, betrothal necklaces and substitutes, and a whole range of other things count?

Blushing TOTALLY counts. In fact, it counts more than cheek kissing and hugging. When Katara kisses Aang on the cheek, she doesn't care because it's just a friendly gesture. She DOES care when he does something romantic or cute, or when she's embarrassed because someone called out their love by accident. That's where the blushing comes in. You only blush when you don't want someone to know something, and the cases in which the blushing happened were all positive Kataang experiences. Kissing on the cheek and hugging can happen anytime, blushing is reserved only for cute moment
