As for the shipping part, I don't feel that you can apply the principals of your example to that of any 'shipping'. The entire point of a ship is that it's what you ideally want. I'm sure most shippers realize what develops in the story and what doesn't, but they remain true to their desires. Shipping also is a term exclusively used on fiction. Fiction works are dreams, and thus, so are shippings. It's not really something that can be taken away just with evidence, and certainly not something that follows the rules of real relationships.

    as you said. I agree.

I also agree with you, and it is very common commit such mistake in the shippers try to predict an end according to the real relationships, but I also believe that the loving aspect of the show has a level of realism and humanism comparable to the from real life that makes it very attractive and interesting. There's no doubt that statistics and the norms of relations real sentimental not apply to fiction much less in a world plagued by war and death where children are forced to fight and women 16 years are forced by their cultures to marry.

oh yes, now all we need is a girls point of view on this. Too bad there are no girls on the internets.

I'll give you guys a girl's point of view.

Not all girls have the same idea of what a relationship will be or have the same expectations. We're all different, obviously, and to be honest, my viewpoints in life tend to be more idealistic ones, much like Aang's.

Look at the different desires of the main female characters on Avatar. Sukki pursued Sokka right away. Other girls like to be chased, ie, Ty Lee. It's a matter of the girl's personality. Girls, just like guys, can be idealistic about a relationship. Katara, for instance, idealizes at times in order to forgive. She looks past the mistakes of people such as Jet, due solely to the fact that she has hope for a better future for that character. She idealizes Aang in the beginning to be a great hero, despite the fact that he is a child. It's not always the best move, but it's her personality nonetheless. Mai, however, doesn't gloss things over. She takes thing as they are, and that's basically it.

We all can tend to haze over things we don't want to see when we're infatuated. I also agree with the fact that some relationships don't last at this age; it's a matter of differing points of view and wants from both the guy and the girl, plus maturity levels or commitment issues. Sorry if I didn't help much here. XD

Nice post btw, tomtitan. It applies well to Kataang and Zutara.

Poor Tomtitan. heheh! Yes, you maybe blinded by love. But to compare it to Zutara? I don't think so. There's a difference between fiction and reality. Some Zutarians think Zutara will happen because a LOT of writers on shows would make Zutara happen, because of the 'opposites attract' and 'friction means actually loving each other in the end' idea. Ofcourse who says that's realistic in real life?

that is so ture PS i LOVE your Zuatara Sig ^-^

Ok, I'll admit that this was funny. Now, here's a real male PoV that I think everyone can relate to.

I'm sure we've all heard the old saying about how love is like a butterfly.

"Hold it too tightly and you'll crush it, but hold it too loose and you'll let it go."

Well, that is true, except there's more too it, which no one seems to say. You see, from a distance, butterflies have beautiful wings, graceful movement, a calming presence, and an all around enchanting feel to them. However, when you get close, usually (but not always) after you've found that right amount of grip to hold the butterfly, butterflies become butt-ugly. They have those hairy little legs, that disgusting and squishy thorax, that bug head with the bulging eyes, and those antennae are just creepy up close.

Anyway, the point is that, despite all those ugly things that you suddenly notice, that butterfly still has those beautiful wings, the graceful movements, a calming presence, and an all around enchanting feel. So, what you have to decide is if those ugly parts of the butterfly are so bad that it is worth giving up the wonderful features of it. Now, don't get me wrong, if by some miracle you can find a butterfly that has no ugly features at all, don't let that sucker go.

Now, unless you find a butterfly like that, keep this in mind: Look for someone who is perfectly imperfect.

Now that I think about it, Katara can be pretty annoying at times. Like in the chase, yes Toph wasn't helping everyone else, but every time Toph and Katara fought it was because Katara started it.

Judging by your posts you never stop the zutara xD

I am a bit apprehensive about the final chapters, even begin to form a theory of how it will be, I was joining the views and comments of Mike and Brian about what they planned to do in the final chapters in the interview he gave last year, with the Dylan gave comments in a podcast, with the views of Ruftoon in devianart and in the last interview of Mike... All these comments as an writers head of Avatar (With the Dylan exception ) lead to a similar conclution and all indications are that it will not be a happy end "somehow". I am sure that it will be exciting and original, as I am sure it will not be very happy, perhaps as Cowboy Bebop, a final you can only hate or love, but it is conspicuous by its originality.

    mmmm sorry!!...off topic

    Wtf ?
