Personally, I think that Maizu will never be anything more then a one-sided crush (similar to Aang's on Katara). Besides, Mai is way too emo. Zuko is attempting NOT to be emo. She'd just mess with any progress he's made.

Zuko needs a sweet and caring girl, like Song or Katara. Personally, however, I think Song is too soft. Someone needs to be able to stand up to Zuko, and get his respect. Although Zuko may like Song, I don't think she earned his repsect. Not the way Katara could, because although she's nice, she's also powerful, and is his equal in bending (c'mon, let's admit it. Zuko doesn't just hand out respect like some people).

So here goes- Maizu might've been cute when they were little, but their time is past. Maybe if Mai wasn't so emo and gothic, they might've had a better chance together.

You know we only saw like one epi with mai adn she now know as the emo gothic in the present in the past she was normal she could of been afriad of azula I'm ty-lee is so she agree without showing fear doesn't mean she wasn't. We have to see more of her to really tell about the character of mai so lay off her

there childhood togethere is really cute though maizu forever haha.

I've TRIED to keep my shipping views to myself, I really did! Why don???t I think Katara and Zuko will work? Their personalities just seem to clash. Zuko would want the upper hand in the relationship but Katara wouldn???t allow it, endless arguing right there! Some claim Song is too soft, okay, maybe she is but her depth of sympathy for a stranger is touching. I know, I know, Zuko doesn???t want pity but something about Song did reach him. When she asked about his father he didn???t lie or refuse answering her, he was as truthful with her as he could be. Yes he DID steal her steed, scorned her kindness, but what???s a self-centered teenager in a desperate state of life supposed to do? When opportunity knocks answer the door! I think she might have it in her to look beyond Zuko???s theft, and if she comes to care for him deeply enough look past the fact he???s the Fire Lord???s son. She strikes me as the person who loves someone no matter what. Katara? I know this is a poor scenario but Jet! She didn???t see a person who experienced a tragedy so great he was nothing except a vessel of hatred but a would-be murderer. I look back on Jet, the rebels,??and pity them. If there???s anyone that???s going to have a relationship with Zuko they need to look past his crimes and faults, I think Iroh proves it and it seems Aang could forgive Zuko for his past crimes.
Where I Stand In The Shipping War:
Aang/Katara
Zuko/Song
Sokka/Yue
And I don't care if these pairing will NEVER happen in the show again. This is where I stand. I tried to change my shipping views but a tigress doesn't change her stripes apparently. Once a shipper, always a shipper!

personally i see troph and aang as more of a possiblity, one thing that bothers me is how is katrina a master of water bending but aang's not, aang has shown he had way more potetional then katara, i know i'm going off topic but just bare with me aang may not have worked hard but he should be up there with katara seeing how he needs only to look at a water bending scroll once to master the move like he did in the episode the waterbending scroll, so he should be way past the level of katrina, and having troph their will be better seeing how waterbending is nothing compared to earth bending on land with no water besides the little wine skin water container katara carries around, god i hope she ends up dieing at the end of the series which i hope is a very very long time from now

To everyone saying that Mai is too apathetic, just because she's a master at not feeling doesn't mean she doesn't care. While I have no proof that she did care about her brother, I think she actually did. Some people hide their emotions so much that they don't seem to feel. When she was a child she seemed more shy to me. Who knows(besides the writers) maybe at one point she was more open about her feelings. I think ya'll are jugding a book by it's cover. Please wait til we see more of her before you decide anything.

personally i think that neither will ever happen. Zuko will most likely die alone a sad and bitter guy, or be the vegeta equivalent in the group when he joins aang.?? and he WILL join aang's posse give him time.....

Dude, being extremely apathetic does not make a person emo. Emo is short for "emocore" or "emotional-hardcore." Mai is neither emotional or hardcore. Thus, Mai is not emo.

Yeah but Vegeta got with Bulma which was very unexpected. Maybe Zuko will have an unexpected relationship, too.

I fail to see how Zuko and Katara are even an option at this point.?? Shoot, Zuko shooting fire at all the girls in the series seems like a bigger option now before he flirts with any of them.

Well, seeing as Mai and Zuko are actually going to interact next season (I doubt Katara and Zuko will even see each other again untill the season three finale) I would say the odds are favoring Maizu. I don't really care about Zuko in terms of shipping, his date with Jin has proven that he's not really a ladiesman. It could lead to some comical moments though, I can only imagine how hilarious a deep, one-to-one conversation between Mai and Zuko would be!
