PG sucks when it comes to Fantasy and Kung Fu, unless it animated movies.

    Nickelodeon is afraid of PG-13!?

    I raise you

    Lord of The Rings
    Pirates of The Carribean
    Harry Potter
    Transformers
    Indiana Jones
    Iron Man
    Titanic
    I Am Legend
    National Treasure
    War of The Worlds

Get with it Nickalodean! We want realisim not cartonessem, we will Boycott it if it is Cartoon like, and PG!

Disney learned to do PG-13 movies, learn to do so as well

There are soooo many subtle nuances to Avatar. One slip on Shyamalan's part could ruin the whole movie. There's not a lot of breathing room for him. I mean let's face it Avatar is not like doing Stuart Little. LOL We can quote episode dialog verbatim. We will notice if something is out of joint and heckle accordingly.

Such as, what would you do if Zuko's scar was on the wrong side of his face?
I'd probably rant and send letters about that. Not before laughing at the preview, of course. "Haha, silly Night."

If M. Night did that, I'd storm into his house like the Juggernaut.

Except at the end I'd say "Night, now I'm bout to show you where the scar supposed to go!"

Hmm. I'm a bit split on this. PG-13 isn't a terible rating- its a great one. Disney got away with Pirates of the Carribean and made a fortune off it. Viacom might be able to do the same. But will they? Its not normal for a Nick movie to be PG-13, they may be trying to reach out more to the familes by going for PG.

By the time the movie comes out, the fans that loved Avatar will be 13, so it's not a bad move.

But this is high-flying fantasy kung-fu action. That was typical pre-teen melodrama.

All the more reason for it to be PG-13. I for one would be very happy if it was PG-13, and I don't think it would affect the marketing towards children. PG-13 is not that bad anyway.

I don't think they would add things that weren't in the show. So I highly doubt it. Though I can kind of imagine Zhao saying "damn" or "hell" once and a while. I mean, who wouldn't if you were in situations like his?

Though I doubt that that there would be language and sex, part of me hopes for something similar. Not full-out sex. Besides, who would have sex? Zuko and Mai? Well.. that doesn't seem too much of a stretch.. I mean, I have a feeling that Maikingout wasn't the only thing they were doing.. >>

Uh oh.. What I just said isn't a cue for the "Adult" people to swoop win and make pervy comments. That goes especially for you Vxiel! I was just stating an observation.

You know what I am looking forward to most about Shyamalan's movies? And really this is so pathetic, but I want to SEE who the rest of Avatar fandom really is. LOL

I mean you see your fellow Avatards online all of the time and maybe you get close to a couple of them and chat online or over the phone and such. Or if you are lucky you go to Comic Conventions and bask in the Avatary glow of it all.

But for once I want to be in a freakin' theater chock-full of fellow Avatarians, rubbing elbows, laughing our backsides off at things that no one else in the world understands unless they share our common addiction to Avatar and Bryke.

More than anything else I want to be knee-deep in the Avatar ambiance at the movies with my 'own kind.' LOL

I get what your saying about the language coming from the older characters, but for me all out sex would ruin it, if not make it better

On Monday, ComingSoon.net had a chance to sit down with filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan to talk about his new apocalyptic thriller The Happening, and while we didn't have a ton of time with the in-demand director, we did get to sneak in a couple questions about his next project M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender.

Some might be familiar with the cartoon that aired on Nickelodeon for three years called "Avatar: The Last Airbender" set in a world that's divided up into elemental factions, two of whom are preparing for war. It's somewhat strange seeing Shyamalan's name attached to the film's working title, but Shyamalan explained why he wanted to do the movie and what he hoped to bring to it. "It was just the story. I just loved the story," he told us. "I loved the characters in the story and I felt like I could be me inside this larger canvas of this very long-form movie. I think it inherently had kind of family issues and serious larger topics--at the center, genocide--all kinds of stuff. Cultural differences at the center. It has Buddhism, Hinduism, things I'm interested in. It does have martial arts in a way that's not bang bang bang, but more about the person mastering yourself and the things that I love. I took martial arts for a long time. A ten-year-old at the center. That point of view felt good, like I could do my thing."

"It will be tough to keep it PG from PG-13," he said about doing a PG family film. "It will be tricky. I don't know how to make a PG movie so that's going to be much harder, because with R, everything was no problem."

When asked about the martial arts from the cartoon and how he planned on handling the action, he responded, "The great thing about it is it's almost like they don't ever really touch each other based in this world. They kind of do a form of manifesting something and then it comes at the other person and they manifest something. It'll be great to do it as extensions of what the characters are feeling, and there'll be much more CG."

Check back soon on our sister site ShockTillYouDrop for our full interview with Night talking about The Happening, which opens on Friday, June 13. The Last Airbender is scheduled for July 2, 2010.

Are you kidding? In my opinion, this show would get a PG-13 rating instantly for the content it deals with. I already can see it:

    M. Night Shymalan presents: The Last Airbender

Rated PG-13 for nonstop stylized action violence and disturbing content
