He's spent far too much time in the Avatar in the minds of Adults thread. Which always was a funny name because I'm probably the only person above 18 that posts there. -_-

Do you mean the old one or the current one? Because I'm over 18.

I highly doubt it will be PG-13. Nick would never allow that to pass. Even though I see children all the time at PG-13 movies, or even R movies.

Disney let "Pirates" be PG-13. And those movies were based on rides at Disney World (Land). Whereas Avatar is a cartoon show with VOILANCE! in it.

    I say go for PG-13.
Avatar's had problems with darker elements that it couldn't express fully.
The Drill, child birth, murder, communism, and war.

I would concur with Ravel93. I would be really surprised to see a PG-13 rating for these movies.

Plus can anyone think of anything which could be classified as 'PG-13' from Season 1 anyway?

    ~thinking~

The discovery of the decompsing Monk Gyatso? Would that really garner a PG-13 rating?

I've seen skeletons in PG movies. Wasn't the first Pirates of the Carribean PG?
And Lisa, if there's one question that's on everyone's mind about this thread, it's this:
"How is it that there's a wall o' text on the first page, and Lisa didn't make this thread?!"

LOL Yeah I was pretty impressed by the massive wall o' text in the first post of this thread myself. Maybe it's a trend! Woot to blinding walls of text!

    No, they were all PG-13.

But there is still a lot of dark subject matters in Avatar; war, genocide, political/government conspiracies, child abuse! Azula herself qualifies the movies (the second and third ones anyway) as PG-13.. So maybe te first one will be PG, and the second and third ones will be PG-13

OMG! I completely forgot about Azula in this! They better get a hot actress for her, or I will cry. I hope they don't actually get a 14-year-old because Azula does not look like she's 14, at all. Well.. She did when she first appeared, but the puberty monsters attacked and suddenly aged her by fifteen years.

Pirates of the Carribean was Disney's first PG-13 film. At least with the Disney name attached to it.

I'm watching the movies either way.
Although, I wouldn't see an issue being rated PG-13. But the themes in Avatar, although include some more mature ones, are touching the borderline on PG (if made into a movie).
Either way, I'm agreeing with a lot of people, in saying I doubt they'll put it in that mid-rating. Even if parents take their children to higher rated films, there are some paranoid ones out there (i.e. my neighbors XD)- I want to see how Night handles this.

Let's just hope he does a good job of it (and faith in him, I have).

There are soooo many subtle nuances to Avatar. One slip on Shyamalan's part could ruin the whole movie. There's not a lot of breathing room for him. I mean let's face it Avatar is not like doing Stuart Little. LOL We can quote episode dialog verbatim. We will notice if something is out of joint and heckle accordingly.

Inorite? It's going to be just like the HP movies; people freak everytime there's one little dialogue difference. But with Bryke involved, I think they'll know what's important to stay in and what's not.

I don't care, really. I expect it to suck anyways. I'm a half empty kind of guy.

Such as, what would you do if Zuko's scar was on the wrong side of his face?

I would have a royal s**tfit. It's funny in EIP, but in an actual movie; it's inexcusable.

The Seige of the North could get quite graphic if he wants it too. Until the invasion, that's the ONLY war scene(unless you wanna count the Drill) in the show. Some LotR's style violence could be in order, show people dying, but no blood.

I'd probably rant and send letters about that.
Not before laughing at the preview, of course.
