after seeing the last avatar episode i came to my conclusion that katara was giving a power boost by the creators to give her more of a purposes, how come aang was able to do all that earth bending if earth bending is suppose to be the toughest element for him to master, but water he needs katara to teach him, last time he could barely bend any earth and know he seems close to mastering it, but with water it came easily to him and he needs katara to teach him, clearly after showing that he outclasses her

even after the north pole, katara still noticably improves as shown in "the swamp" and a little in "tales of ba sing se". in "the swamp", she created a huge wave from 2 foot deep water and owned the giant vine monster. in "tales of ba sing se", she created a large wave with just a swing of her arm.

    and she's better than aang

katara will be the master of all waterbenders by the end of the series!!!!!!!!!

Katara is the Lana Lang of this series. Unjusifiably powerful, the most beautiful girl in the world, the one everyone loves, and when she gets hurt everyone is sad for her. Anyone else think she's a little too amazing for her own good?

Katara, too amazing????? O_o?? Not gonna happen, at least for me.?? Oh, I think she's prettier without makeup.?? GO KATARA!!!?? GO KATAANG!!!

Yah.?? Like you said, she's extremely pretty, and pretty damned powerful, but I disagree that she's too perfect. She IS wonderful, but like us all, has her bad spots, like when she stole the Waterbednign scroll, and when she yelled at Aang for being so naturally good at Waterbending.?? But that's the ONLY bad thing about her: her temper.?? But, ugghh, like I said, her taste in makeup is horrible, in Tales Of Ba Sing Se she had too much blush, and her eye-shadowy stuff (whatever you girls call it) stuck out like a sore thumb.?? Even with her makeup on good, Katara isn't as good-looking as without it.?? But, still, Katara Rocks!!!!?? Yes, I know I'm madly engrossed in an entirely fictional girl!!!?? Who cares????? GO KATARA!!!

Now let's use that same logic with water bending so between episodes before the north pole if aang practice he should of mastered water bending earlier seeing how he is a natural at it, also don't forget earth bending was way harder for him then water he got it on his first try, katara practiced between episodes, why didn't aang he should be way better then katara but you know have to have another super character on the team

NO, i death of katara would drive home the importance of being the avatar to aang, just like the death of gwen stacey did for spiderman, the importance of keeping his identity secret, well until civil war

Sokka does, but Katara is just in the way of Taang.

So you're saying to get rid of Katara purely for the sake of an unrealistic ship?

It is not unrealistic, it could happen, I said Katara and Aang is about 70%, Toph and Aang is about 30%. That is giving Katara and Aang more % than they should get because they are NOT together, and NEVER had anything like a date.
70% is too much, you say? So "Why are you smiling at me like that?" "Oh, I was smiling?" The Fortuneteller The Cave of Two Lovers and the ending to The Desert, the clear portraits of Aang's affection for Katara in these points are pure coincedences? The creators have NEVER hinted Toph/Aang in my opinion. 70% is not enough! So what if they're not dating? They're 12 and 14, what do you expect, marriage?
Amen piranhapete, Amen. Besides, Kataang(in my opinion) has much more of a chance than Zutara or the others.(no offense)

In book one this happens not after, aang should of mastered waterbending while at the north pole

I think Aang didn??t make an advance in the North Pole just because it was Katara??s dream to become a master there, and proving himself better than her would have hurt her. Aang better than Katara? The cave of the two lovers! I had the feeling that Katara couldn??t do the octopus thing...

uh, she was TEACHING him the octapus thing. of course she would know how to do it.

katara just advanced faster and is better than aang at waterbending cause 1. she cares about it and 2. aang still needs to work on his other two elements. nothing in the show suggested anything like "he didn't want to hurt her feelings". if he really didn't want to hurt her feelings, he wouldn't have done so well in episode 9

Lets not forget that Aang has the attention span of a marble. While Katara was busy learning the various combat moves from Master Paku(sp.), Aang was practicing his snowman techinique.
