they make money for prolonging the series, they can sell DVDs, action figures, toys, plushies etc etc. but once the series finishes they won't sell as much.

then make everybody happy and NOT stop the series, that way all Avatar fans around the world will be happy, not to metion Nick. See, I can be nice to Nick, (only if it means good thing 4 us Avatar fans)

Don't forget the most important possible reason for Avatar being prolonged. It's possible that Nick execs have seen or heard several Avatar fans speak ill of Nick, and of how some/most people who watch Nick only for Avatar are not going to watch the station again. A lot of people feel that once Avatar's over, Nick's all downhill from there. Nick probably knows it too.

Really, that's why the Season 3 premiere didn't have a season premiere audience. It debuted the same night as a brand new Hannah Montana that guest starred The Rock, they hardly advertised it, and they waited too long to show it. And you probably saw that one thread where the guy said he was losing interest. Some people aren't as faithful to Avatar as much as we are and stopped watching the show because of these long waiting periods.

she was the one that made the thread about sexism in the show, (the thread itself, not her) referenced and made fun of in my "Forum Necromancy" thread.

Edit: I just read her blog, all I got to say is tsk tsk. Just because Nick doesn't care doesn't mean us as fans shouldn't. But I see the point you're making, it's in response to my statement "Some people aren't as faithful to Avatar as much as we are."

I can think of at least five reasons why to hate nick. 1. They made us wait 9 months for the third season of our beloved show. 2. Hardley anyone knew about the new season because nick didn't advertise it well. 3. Nick is making us wait forever for just 10 more episodes. 4. While nick's at it, why not at least play a replay? They don't even play replays anymore. All they replay is Spongebob. 5. Nick is allowing YTV to air all new episodes while us American fans are glued to our computers asking in google "when will avatar 312 air?"

I hated the prolonged waits ages ago and now just have a look here every couple of weeks to see if the eps have been released. The hype about the next episodes are now gone as i can't remember what was so good in the last episode to get all excited about. Heres an ex-addicted fan now waiting for the finale just to give me a close to the whole avatar story. Maybe i should start a group for those wanting to give up the Aanguish left by Nick?
