    What's disheartening?
    That the voice actor for my favorite character is shipping my MOST hated ship. Shipping is retarded(Damn you algebra, I'm P.O.ed). Sluggmunki or whatever is right, this is an action adventure show not a fan-controlled matchmaker show. Oh, I feel like (insert profanity here).


    Sure your not just a little jealous that she didn't want Toph to be with you? *runs away*

    I happen to care more about the characterization (family/friend/romantic relationships) than "plot" per se. However, I care about the action and mythology as much as the relationships. Unfortunately there's just not much in the action or mythology that is "debatable."

    "Plot" is just low on the totem pole in terms of what interests me. I like my plots to be simple and form a framework for action and characterization, but not "get in the way" like they so often do in science fiction and fantasy.

    It's the relationship between 2 characters and the shippers are the fans of that relationship. The biggest ones are Kataang (Katara/Aang) and Zutara (Zuko/Katara). Their are TONS of different kinds, but these 2 are dealing with WWIII right now, lol

    Yup, she does call him Zuzu. She just called him "dum-dum" when he referred to cartwheeling as a game.

    Well...if you think of it, their is still hope for the Taangers out
    there. She said she preffered Tokka, but she never said it would
    happen! And also she thought that at the top of her head because she
    didn't know what shipping was at first. Reminder: She is just a voice
    actress and not a producer or creator or etc.

    While I think there's even less hope for the Taangers than there is for
    the Zutaras (in terms of the ship becoming canonical), you're absolutely right: Jessie isn't saying that Toph will end up with Sokka. She's simply stating things from Toph's viewpoint as it is in the series. Jessie doesn't care about ships and didn't know about them until the interview, so her statements are more coming from the standpoint of what the directors told her in terms of why her character is crushing on Sokka's character.

    For the record, I seriously doubt Tokka will actually happen, unless the series goes beyond the three book arc and Toph, y'know, grows up and Sokka somehow notices . . .

    Exactly! Just because someone says or something happens on another source doesn't mean it will happen on the show. At times, there will be when two characters will have their moments but that's all. Shippers does get out of hand with this which is why I'm not supporting any ships on the show. Avatar is about teamwork, friendship and trust, not love! Want love, go watch My Network TV. There's plenty there. (don't take it for me being rude, I'm just saying that Avatar isn't about love).

    I'm not taking Jesse's opinion as some kind of "assurance" that Tokka will happen, I don't know why everyone thinks that. I just don't wanna have to deal with, "Well, even Toph's voice actress wants Toph to end up with Sokka, so there" stuff, even though if she had said Aang, I'd be saying it all over the place. I don't know, it just seems kinda like a big hit to me when even the voice actor/tress of my favorite character on a show, likes a ship that I most definately dislike, hate and abhor and any other word like that. *Sigh* But whatever I guess, it's just another one of those things I'm gonna have to think up an excuse for in case Tokka shippers use it to deny Taang.
