*is still neutral* It's fun to pick apart ships. I have picked apart Kataang before, as well as Zutara. I remain neutral in the war on ships. *is Switzerland, only with a mouth* |
I agree with whoever said Zutara and Kataang would be clich??.
Honestly at this point I think at the end of the series either there will be no real couples... OR its going to be something no one really expected. Mike and Bryan are pretty good at that. ::shrugs::

Wow those all stretch the lines of reality. I say they're freaks. Taking serious, and even comical moments, and twisting them into Zutara propoganda. 1. Katara is a female. Females natural instincts are to care for babies, no matter their origin. If a lady has a homeless Arab child end up on her doorstep and she decides to care for it, WILL SHE END UP WITH AN ARAB GUY? That there makes no sense. 2. In Bato of the Water Tribe Katara was clearly being sarcastic at the end. Even Sokka can see that. It was a big Kataang moment, yet Zutarians are trying to put it off as a huge moment for them. Ugh...someone's sarcasm meter is turned off. 3. Oh man, Zuko is NOT a powerful bender. Aang is, Sokka even said so. At last we checked Zuko was still learning "the basics". Besides, since the last time they fought, Aang now has 2 more elements under his belt, and is way more powerful than Zuko. 4. The whole scene with Jun calling Katara Zuko's g/f was just for humor, holy crap. Besides, any straight male would not object to someone saying some pretty young gal is his g/f unless it's actually true 5. Recall Zuko still did take Katara's necklace, certainly knowing it's hers. If anything he's a thief, but people say it was big for Zutara. As Katara herself said, "Go jump in a river!" 6. Those clips of Aang being a "child" are all from season 1 no doubt. He has grown up quite a bit this year with all the big things that are happening. 7. The Katara saying "he's not my boyfriend" was from the 2nd episode..we're at 38 now. Ask her again, she'd probably change her mind 8. "Katara was the first to know Zuko's name" - Uhhh...she was the first to speak it among the group but that doesn't mean diddly squat. We don't know who really knew his name first, but it likely was Aang because he spent more time on his ship. 9. You're really stretching it with Oma and Shu. For one, those two were both from the same country, despite their villages are fighting. And I'm sure neither villages killed thousands of warriors from the other side. 10. The ponytail joke of Katara's was more of a bust on Sokka, who originally said Zuko was a freak with a ponytail. What they conviently forgot was Zuko yelling at Katara in The Chase after Iroh was wounded. That there just about contradicts everything they said. |

I think Zuko will gain a crush on Katara. That's it.
I'm a Zutara fan and proud of it!!

This is really interesting that this thread should come up now. I recently found a series of Zutara foreshadowing vids on YouTube. Here they are. Some of the evidence is a bit of a stretch, but its the best support for Zutara I've seen so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgCvvc5UwZ0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwY_kYWzSG4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS9h1sdTp8g |
I watched the last one and I have to ask how is Sokka babbling when he has a fever proof of Zutara??? Momo brought Katara random junk and??that is proof??of a ship.?? The rest Pooldude explained perfectly.

what foreshaduw grabbing someone back (YES HER BACK NOT BUTT) or persuading someone to retrieve honor oh yea i really can see a relation growing into that
This is why for the most part, I'm staying out of this shipping war.?? This is reminding me far too much of the Harry Potter shipping war: the Aang/Katara being Hermione/Ron and I'm sorry to say, the Zuko/Katara being Harry/Hermione.
So I'll say the exact same thing I said then: If you have to seriously sit there and twist around facts or events, blow them out of portion, make the rival person or person your trying to ship of out of character, or my favorite, when your rival ship can simply point out evidence/proof that might support??their ship while you have to darn near fight tooth and nail just to get one fact--that can easily be disputed mind you---then chances are??? You're ship was NOT meant to sail.??
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Zuko/Katara can't/won't happen (I'll wait until Friday to openly say that) but let's be honest here: foreshadowing or otherwise, Katara/Aang is a heck of a lot stronger right now.??Far more on the 'one sided' point of view but at least they have one side.????Now do they have more of a realistic shot? As of now uh, no.?? The only thing they having going for them is that they're around the same age. But hell, who's to say that they can't become friends first, then something more??? I could see that happening, but personally, I just don't.?? It kinds irrates me when like, 50 (exaggerating) guys falls for the same girl that just happens to be the main female character of the show.?? (Zuko would make lucky guy number four to fall for Katara...) But seriously: let's not forget about Mai people: she still likes Zuko too and the pair actually have more of a history.?? And who knows...he might just be able to turn her around--if she even needs that much turning to begin with. (I bet half of you think it's going to turn into a Katara/Mai showdown for him...don't you? LMAO.)
As I said, I think some of us are going to be drastically disappointed.?? I doubt seriously this is going to be a Zuko/Katara bonding moment for their ship: I think Katara's entiere purpose via Zuko is to help him with choosing his destiny out of similar experiences.?? No one says they have to end up together, they could just end up as strong friends/allies, which I personally, could live with.??
??As for Aang/Katara, personally, I think Aang just has a serious crush on Katara and it's one sided period.?? Katara does care for Aang but I seriously think it's in a friendly "Cause your my little brother" kind of way.?? You gotta remember, Aang is what? Twelve??? It reminds me of a little kid having a crush on older, pretty, friendly girl.?? It happens all the time.?? (Arguably, look at Toph vai Sokka?)?? Could it get more realistic when Aang is older? Possibly. As for him having to give Katara up--stop cheering Zuko/Katara.?? I can think of plenty reasons/way the Guru could have meant that, depending on why the topic even came up. Maybe Aang found out Katara was in trouble and the Guru simply meant that for once, he was going to have to forget about Katara otherwise he may not be able to finish and go into avatar form--like ever again if he didn't do whatever he had to do right then and there.?? Or maybe it's making reference to the fact that everytime he's gone into Avatar State, it's been Katara (save the NP incident) who's pulled him out of it???
::sighs:: Shipping can actually be fun. It's the rabid fans that make me and bunnies want to run and hide.

This is reminding me far too much of the Harry Potter shipping war: the Aang/Katara being Hermione/Ron and I'm sorry to say, the Zuko/Katara being Harry/Hermione. What the (18 bad words) are you talking about? Harry/Hermionie is totally Aang/Katara. It's the staple Male Lead/Female Lead matching that everyone flocks to immediatly. Hermionie/Ron are the bickering sidecharacters that have chemistry between them and are likely to strangle each other if they didn't think each other were so attractive. Hermionie/Ron has to be Zuko/Katara. God, do you even read the series or watch Avatar? |
Yes, I am aware that they share this in common with Aang and Katara but this is what I meant: I say Harry/Hermione because as far as it goes NOW, Zuko/Katara stand just as much chance and the rabid fans (not all of you, mind you)??act EXACTLY the same way they did: taking for lack of a better word, bull crap and trying to turn it into a reasons why this ship could OMG sail (not to mention going mental????if you say anything, logical or otherwise, about why they're ship just won't sail), where as the Ron/Hermione fans actually had basis and things they could go on for their ship (just like we knew Ron liked Hermione but most people weren't positive Hermione felt the same way) like the Aang/Katara fans. Hence why I said what I did AFTER that post. And yes, I have been watching avatar and I have read Harry Potter enough to know that 1. Hermione/Harry was never going to happen ::bows:: or as J.K. said: "I thought it was OBVIOUS." 2. Unless something MAJOR happens in this upcoming episode, or as I said before, a friendship sparks into some kind of relationship neither will most likely, Zuko/Katara. There is no proof of the ship (yet) and truth be told, we're gasping at straws here for them. It's sad but alas, true. So true that even supporters of the ship admit it. ::hunches:: (And I must be missing this sexual tension for Katara/Zuko, due to lack of them actually hanging out together, really knowing each other...something. Which is a shame because I caught it instantly with Ron/Hermione buy like, the second book. Makes me wonder if it's even THERE...hmmmmm...)
And I've already said in what? My first post, that that was why I didn't like Katara/Aang either: because it was cliche' for the hero to always somehow end up with the main female character. Just like it's cliche' for people to place Katara/Zuko together just because they're both main characters of sorts and just 'happen' to be from rival nations. THAT certainly doesn't happen often...
