    ???????? I read somewhere that the fire nation has kept the air nomads who tried to escape the war hiden??and it is using them as slaves and somehow they are not benders I don't remenber where I??read that but is true.

    Wow ok. Understand this. ALL AIR NOMADS ARE BENDERS. Case closed. End of discussion. No ifs, ands or ! They are 100% all benders. It doesn't matter who their parents are. Not one Air Nomads was/is not a bender.

    Oh and this theory seems far-fetched. I don't think Nick would allow slavery PERIOD. Prisons where some of the prisoners work, alright. But outright slaves? Don't think so...

    I'm sorry to question your ideas, But what if there is no one to teach them airbending??? What if they are nomads but the can't find a techer?? They can't teach them selves!

    She lived in constant interaction with water and her people. But if these??Airnomads are slaves they sure are in no conditions to learn to bend.

    See bolded part. Imprisoned had a prison for Earthbenders where only some of the Earthbenders were doing work, and all they were doing was hammering (right?). Slavery would be where they are owned and sold and do whatever their owner pleases.

    Anyway, they would still be considered benders even if they don't have a teacher. It may seem weird, but they still have the ability, so they technically would be a very novice airbender even if they didn't have a teacher. Recall Katara was a struggling waterbender...she had no one to teach her but learned it on her own.

    Exactly, but Leo's point was that the Airbenders in this theory wouldn't be airbenders because they didn't have teachers, which isn't the case. If they were born airbenders, then they're airbenders.

    Still the point remains she was a bender even when teaching herself. If there were any air nomads, since air nomads are so in touch with their spirituality they would have discovered their ability and at least practice. That doesn't change the fact that he/she is a bender though. Like I said, ALL Air Nomads are benders.

    I would imagine that airbenders are always in contact with air as well.
