I guess it's just some weird, deformed animal. I mean, I'm sure there are other lion-turtles, just not large ones. It's possible that its genetic make up is screwed up. I think it's most likely that it's some sort of spirit creature.

Possibly that, or it is one of the ancients, as it supposedly knew about how the original things didn't bend the elements. They bent their own energy before they learned how to bend the elements. Wouldn't this mean that the lion turtles came before the original benders like the bisons, lemurs, dragons, the moon, etc.?

im kinda hoping for something entirely new. set in the same universe, but with a new cast of charachters. as much as i loved the show, i think anything after the finale would be anticlimactic, except maybe a tales of ba sing se style episode.

I don't want that to happen! I want Zuko! I have become so attatched to that guy and the rest of the gAang that I don't know if I could become attached to a whole new set of characters.

I would like a closure. I don't think it would be boring at all if they made another series. Showing how everything goes post war. I mean, when a war ends it doesn't happen all of a sudden. There has to be rebuilding. There will be rebellions in the Fire Nation because I'm sure not everyone wanted the war to end. Zuko would have to deal with all of that and the day to day tasks of being the new and probably youngest Fire Lord.

Aang would also have a lot of growing to do. He has had practically no childhood and now must jump straight into reuniting the Four Nations. It will definitely be a struggle.

And, lest we forget, Zuko MUST find out what happened to his mother and I'm sure Katara will want to help him with that.

i guess youre right! If you seen the pilot for avatar, you can see in the intro that Aang is airbending in front of a giant lion turtle statue. So maybe it's a sacred animal to the air nomads?

I personally would love another story based on the same universe, as other users had said.
But anything that Bryke has to announce us I will take it as the best....so I'm just going to wait until they make the announcement without building myself any hope XD lol that could be heartbreaking if I expected something and then it all went down...

If they do do an epilogue, i would looooooooooooooove to know what the hell happened to Jet. Anyone else?

At first, I assumed the Zuko's mom cliffhanger was made so they have somewhere to go from if they get renewed or w/e for a new show. Apparently everyone else has known about this for weeks, so I'm wrong.

Also, what has become of the Melon Lord?! lol

Sorry, bud, Jet has long been declared dead. No ifs or buts about it. Bryke confirmed it.

I'm pretty sure it will be in the same universe. The same planet, too =p I don't think they'll go as far as to create a whole new world. This one seems to be doing quite well for the time being.

I saw the pilot on youtube but it had a commentary feature of the creators of the avatar throughout the whole episode. So if the voices of the creators don't bother you , then you should be good. Although the creators did mention some really interesting things.

I've already gotten my hopes up so high for a season 4 or a new series with the gAang. Anything else wouldn't feel the same for me. But I guess we'll all have to wait and see. Unfortunately... it's most likely my hopes will be rammed to the ground... face first >_

To be honest with you guys i believe that MOMO is SPECIAL. But when i say special i mean that he's suppose to be one of Aang's avatar teacher like the guru. Because on the first episode the gang meet Momo, Aang opened a door which was suppose to have someone behind it that will help him with the whole avatar thing. That's when he found Momo. It was the third episode of the of the series "The Southern Air Temple". OR i could be completely wrong and I'm just coming off stupid right now!!! LOL
