Have you seen Avatar fan art? Some of the themes in those pictures are pretty explicit .

Yes because fan art makes the show better.

If this show canbe exhilerating and action-y without any blood, I think it's displaying a talented crew. So let's just stick to it as it is.

Because I like seeing necro pictures.

The show is great the way it is. I like how the show makes me wander into my wild imagination of how violent a scene could have been or what else would happen. The mystery makes you want more!

Personally I think the shows creators show maturity by implicitly keeping this show for kids. I imagine if they had free reign it would actually do the show a dis-service. It'll be just another Dragon Ball Z . These creators are, in part, forced to make the show more enticing by development and strong plots, rather then mindless violence. All credit to them. They've made a kids show and adult one and memorable to boot.

The show is able to stand on it's own even without violence, it's got so much other great stuff to back it up. If you allow it to have excessive violence, the great story wouldn't be as promenant as it is now. All you'd see is blood and stuff.

Exactly Avatar has been doing well even without violance I mean living off the streets and begaing for survival doesn't sound exiting at first but look how muc appeal it was given.

I second that! Or third it, or whatever. Because of its audience, Avatar can't resort to crude forms of entertainment, and therefore must entertain by plot and characters alone.

Much to the writer's credit, they are yet to insert any of the lame/gross gags that plague other kid's shows nowadays, even though they certainly could!

Not quite. In the first episode Appa sneezed snot on Sokka and in the Runaway that bird took a dump. However, I find these instances funny.

Not only that, but they don't seem contrived. Which is fantastic since that's why most of the lame crap you see on 'kid's' sucks so much. It's all too obvious.

Avatar is just fine as it is, don't need to see people being slashed into 2, the storyline is what Avatar makes great, so no problem it is a "kids show", besides i think that there are more people between 14-18 watching this show than 12 y olds.

I for one, would like to see what the creators would do with free reign. I think they would handle it nicely, considering what they have made so far. I'd think they would only use violence when nessesary and sparingly to keep it tastful, but not to keep the audience from feeling the kind of impact that some parents don't think their children are ready for.

I think the thing I would most likely want to see is Zuko putting his superhuman strength and crazy ninja skills in a fight, perhaps in an episode to prove that he is more than the 'shoot fireballs out of my hands', not to the audience, but to himself or someone else.

If it wasn't a kids show, then Azula could say stuff like this.

WARNING! EXCESSIVE USE OF FOUL LANGUAGE

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmVfgpOjpGY

    Back to being serious.

I think the show is just fine the way it is. All the violent scenes are used effectively and just often enough. The whole reason we love the bending battle scenes is because they aren't used that often, so they never loose their excitement factor.

I would appreciate some more graphic fights and a higher mortality rate, but I quite enjoy knowing that it is a kids show.
