This would be a fav ship with Zutarians.
Fact: Despite being an animated series Avatar is in a class by itself because the epic storytelling alone places it in the same hallowed halls as Tolkien's LOTR and the Cohen brothers' Matrix Trilogy.
Fact: Mike and Bryan are pure genius as we lovingly refer to them as 'the animation gods,' because they have brilliantly created a show that is wildly popular with very young children as well as the oldest of adults.
Fact: You wouldn't sex-up the Mona Lisa to appeal to modern society would you? Avatar is a work of art. It is fully intact just the way it is. You need not improve upon perfection.
Fact: The world is chock-full of mediocre cartoons, TV shows, magazine articles, books and websites. Why sully beauty when you find it? Avatar is timeless and taps into the deepest human need for myth, fantasy and meaningful storytelling.
Aang has a journey to complete and we are all taking it with him. We want the end of S3 so we can have closure and savor again every reason why we became Avatarians in the first place.
Avatar is fine the way it is.
But there are some moments.Like how they kiss, which you never see often in kids shows. They showed Monk Gyatso's skeleton. Then there is Jet and Yue's death. And they showed a lady giving birth.Well they didn't show it,but still.
I've wished that sometimes, but only so that the little 'C8' box doesn't show up on screen and therefor having my family mock me for watching a kids show XD
I'd leave it the way it is though, i wouldn't want it to turn into 14A so that there's more blood and violence >.>

Broken caps? Yes blood has been show once at least.
I do wish sometimes it was geared towards an older audience, yes. The problem though is I think a lot of the magic of the show would be lost to the pure action and fight scenes that many of the shows geared to older viewers are prone to. I think it would be much like what happened to Naruto, but opposite.
Naruto started as a show really geared towards an older crowd, with the intensity of the fighting and blood and the overall theme, even though the main characters were of Avatar-ish age. However, when brought to U.S. soil, it really got dumbed down to a kidlike show, and anyone who was a fan of Naruto fansubs quickly grew a distaste for what it became when it crossed the border. The seriousness of the show was lost. Tarnished by the voice actors and the censorship, it became a new show altogether.
I feel a similar thing would happen to Avatar if it was instead a show pointed at mid-teens through early-adulthood.

Zuko gets sctratched by Azula in The Avatar State, not really that much blood there just a scratch
I am over 40 years old and now you tell me I have been watching a kids show?? Avatar for kids?? NO WAY!!! I must be one big kid.
Do I wish Avatar wasn't a kid's show?
OMFG YES!!!!
Imagine how much more awesome it would be... it'd be liek... Hellsing Ultimate... where human blood is used as paint to be used on a great canvas... creating a twisted ruined work of art...
Truely such is bueaty simplified...
I mean... there might actually be some real shipping going on.
