    The OWLS should be about posting in a way that doesnt offend others. It should be okay to have opinions as long as they are communicated in a wise and respectful manner.

    Example:

    Bad = ZUTARA SukS!!!1one!!!eleven!!!!11!!!

    Good = I think there is more evidence for Katanng than Zutara which is why I prefer Kattaang.

    Maybe it's a deliberate misspelling that n00bs use because they think it makes them kooler. (deliberate misspelling [lawl c wut I did thar?])

    I would support OWLism, if I didn't know where it all came from; I don't think this guy deserves to have any more impact on our forum. It was basically because of him that this whole anti-troll thing got started.

    That being said, I will do my best to be a wise, kind, polite poster.

    he was the last straw, but the desire for owlism had been there long before, probably even before book 2 ended

    I'm no disciple but their are several benefits and reasons for being one.

    1. You get respect. Don't expect it from everyone, but it is a symbol that you are a good community poster.

    2. It often shows you are a high rank in the Avatar community.

    3. It's a position. Basically, it's the highest form of an owl, the opposite of a troll. You become an example for the community and hopefully improve it through example and action.

    4. The Icon. That's right. You get a cool icon with you're name on it. Okay, so its not key, but it is one of the benefits.

    Personally, I also think it shows you're a hardcore Avatar fan and poster. This is just my take on it, I'm sure the Disciples have their own view.

    owlism (in the case of Avatar forum and hopefully the whole TV com community)is a commitment by the poster that he(or she) would do the utmost to be a wise, nice, thoughtful poster. the opposite of a troll. in the case of DOD

    it is a recognition by fellow forum members that the person voted as disciple shows the signs of owlism and is deserving to be a spokesperson of what it is an OWL and is also a great responsibility of the disciple to stay within what an OWL is supposed to be
