Kay, what is up with all these bans on the forbidden phrase. Really, Nal. is the last person that I would expect to get banned on here.

Does anyone know for sure that was why he was banned or where he posted his message if he did?

This ban nonsense is making me terribly curious... (Farely new if that is alright) I should hope to know what we aren't allowed to say...

with the latest unfortunate events (Sgt hydra and Nalesnik )

what it takes in reality to be an OWL?

one has to be more than simply A wise, nice, thoughtful poster

one has to assent oneself to various things

    1) to be patient as much as possible(even to the noobs)

    2) to not use any bad words

    3) not to do any "disruptive postings" even if those postings seem to be a warranted response (these includes under the bylaws of TV-com moderators "to get in ahead of a mod locking the thread", probably the "this is a necro thread" or "first" and things similar to that )

    4) to be careful not to post any inappropriate images, even ones done "unintentionally"

    5) to try to guide any misguided poster into the correct way

    6) in the cases of any obviously highly inappropriate post or thread, one has to agree to do one of these(if not all of them) PM the editor, PM a mod, or report it

    7) if possible and if it is a minor offense, PM the offending party(is better that one doesn't ask at the thread itself, because either someone will take offense to it be done in public, or you will encourage someone else to report it, and thus the poster with the minor offense might get suspended or banned) and ask that poster to remove or edit the minor offense

don't quote any offending post, TV mods are liable to take action against you AS if you did the offending post even though you were not the one who wrote the offending words

what can I do as a poster? As it seems being an Owl limits my actions

    1) do not be afraid to voice your opinions, being respectful, and not using fowl language doesn't mean you can't make your voice be heard

    2) you have the right to disagree, disagreeing with someone does not mean you are not an owl or a disciple

    3) we want you to continue being part of the community, we want to encourage you not to do small things that will lead to you not being part of our community anymore, so do not think of being an owl as limiting your actions, it is extending the chances of you staying part of the community

Making a few changes. Being an owl is something you choose to do. Being a Disciple is a responsibility not only to other Disciples, but to the whole community. Thank you, Wiselad for your contribution.

Quite frankly, I am astounded at the TV.com Moderator's sudden, decisive, and uncouth actions. While I am not informed on the occasion concerning the user, SgtHydra, from what I have heard of _Nalesnik_'s plight, it is an overreaction on the part of the moderators. By their course actions, one can see that they feel as if they are loosing their influence over our beloved forum. And perhaps they were. But by banning two very prominent figures of our community is not a necessary step in reparations. I am disheartened, and my trust in the higher-ups has been shaken by these disturbing events.

I have known this(the way of the mods) for a long time, they go by the letter of the law, not the spirit of the law
