Dosu Kinuta, mercanary
--
"Don't move," said a voice.
"Ugh......" was all Dosu could muster. With life flowing back in him, he began to remember, all at once, the horrible things that that he had just learned of. He had been wondering why he hadn't heard from his family. He had wondered why his brother hadn't written him about his training. He remembered the last time he saw his mother. His sister. His father, on his deathbed, passing out the swords. That day killed some of his family, but now they were all gone. He was all there was.
Trying to sit up, he immediately felt intense, blinding pain. The one thing that he had forgotten was that he had just stabbed in the chest. He fell back down.
"Don't try to get up you idiot!" another voice ordered. This one was male, and was directly next to him. He reached up his hand with lightning quick speed and grabbed the voice by the neck. He made a quick "hurk!" sound, and he could feel someone prying at his fingers, but he had a death grip.
"Get help! GET HELP!" the other voice yelled. Dosu blacked out again.
When he awoke he heard more voices.
"I don't know. We've tried everything, but that is a major wound he's got. That maniac stabbed straight through him."
"We could try the girl," another suggested.
A third voice butted in, "No! No way! The waterbender has to be restrained at all times, especially since we're ON A SHIP."
"I know that, but it's pretty obvious all she can do is heal. She was surrounded by water when we attacked her and she didn't fight back."
"She's right," the first voice said, "Go get the girl, but keep her restrained and don't give her any water. I'd take him down to her but he's likely to go any minute."
Dosu blacked out again. When he awoke a third time, he managed to open his eyes. Just slightly, he could see an immense light. It felt soothing, as if he were completely relaxed. The light dissipated, but Dosu's injuries no longer felt as significant.
"I did all I could, but there's little I CAN do. He is very injured."
"Well, he'll live. So take her back to her cell, and get this one chained up as well."
Dosu blacked out again. When he awoke he opened his eyes and stared into the room he was in. There were bars infront of him, and the signs of the battle he had waged against Itami were still clear in the room. A new guard was standing watch.
"Where's....Itami?
"You mean that psychotic merc who doesn't wear shoes? He's out, having some fun before just before we leave. My guess is that he's out making every girl he comes across-"
"I don't want to know anymore," he said.
"Alright, if that's the way you want it."
Dosu looked around. Itami obviously warned them of his abilities, because his hands were bound in chains from the walls. His feet were left free, however. He wondered if they found everything on him. Probably not, because Dosu had a knack for finding nifty places to hide emergency equipment, like his.....nevermind.
His thoughts began to drift back to his family, and how he was going to gleefully torment Itami for as long as he could before he let death take him. He thought of his little brother. 10 was no age at which to die. Rage began to fill every part of him and he started to shake. If it weren't for his injuries, he may have snapped the chains right there, and then ran through the prison bars, found the nearest living thing, and killed it.
The guard had fallen asleep from boredom. Obviously not the motivated kind. He thought about his tribe. He hadn't seen them in years, but he always managed to keep contact. Now there was nothing to contact.
"How are your wounds?" a small voice asked from across the room.
"Whose there?" Dosu asked. His vision was still blurry.
"I did what I could for what they let me," it spoke again. This time another voice chirped in, "I'd have helped too, but earthbending doesn't make for good healing abilities."
"Are you Hitan's children?"
"We are."
"Very well then. We'll be leaving soon."
"But....how? You're all tied up, and injured, and you're in a cell-"
"Only one of those things matters, and I can bypass injuries. Now, if you'll excuse me." Dosu rose up and did his best to lift himself into the air using the chains as his balance. He reached up and pulled out a lockpick out of a place few people wished to venture. He calmly got back down and put the lockpick in his left hand. He began to pick the lock, and it burst open, and then he did the same for the other lock. Then he got down and walked to the cell door.
"Hey guard, I need some water."
"Huh?! Oh, well, if that's what you want-"
The guard walked over to the cell door as if to unlock it and received a very hard punch in the face directly through the bars of his cell. Dosu then grabbed the body as it fell, and removed the key ring from it.
"Thanks."
He then unlocked his cell door and walked over to their cells. After helping the kids, he walked back into the center of the room. His chest ached, but he would be OK.
"I must've done better with your wounds than I thought I had. Are you sure you're OK?"
"Yeah, perfectly fine. Now, let's get out of here," Dosu said, and they went to the door.
"We'll sneak through a-" Dosu said just before being cut off by a massive explosion.
"Wha-wha-wha?!" the earthbending kid said.
"COMON YOU MANGY DOGS! SPRINGFEET'S CREW IS HERE!"
"Ooooh crap," Dosu said and he began to look around, as if explosions were about to become very commonplace, "Son of a-"
"What?! What is it?!" the girl asked.
"...Springfeet."
He took the two and rushed for the top deck, disabling numerous people. As he rushed for the top, he saw that the whole entire dock and city were under attack. People were rushing around, and then he saw the pirate ship.
Suddenly a tall, massive man jumped down onto the dock and killed a dozen firebenders, in one massive, explosive fireblast that lit up the whole deck. Dosu just managed to get his cargo out of the way.
The man got up and hit another guard coming out of the staircase before he even had a chance to look up. He breathed fire and then looked around.
"THIS WHOLE PLACE....BELONGS TO SPRINGFEET! ALL HAIL SPRINGFEET!"
"Springfeet!" a dozen pirates screamed on the deck.
The massive firebreather took out numerous more Fire Nation soldiers and stood up.
"Well, well. What do we have here?! Dosu Kinuta? Here? Now? Why is this how my luck plays out? Tell me Dosu, when were you gonna pay up about everything in the past?"
Itami's introduction completed the happy reunion.
"Well, well. I get you, Dosu, AND I get the infamous pirate known only by the super cheesey name Springfeet. What kind of name is that anyway?"
Springfeet and Dosu turned to Itami.
"Well, I guess you're about to find out why I'm called that, boy."
