I've been noticing a bunch of major flaws in Avatar.?? Not just little things, but huge details that affect the whole series.?? Someone just mentioned the solar eclipse.?? How come firebenders can't bend during a solar eclipse, yet they can still bend at night??? It's the same thing, except the Earth is blocking the sun instead of the moon.?? Another flaw is that the Dai Li seem to be very good fighters, much better than a regular earth nation soldier.?? Why is it then, that other earth soldiers can't be trained like the Dai Li??? They might be able to win the war very easily. ??

can't tell you about the eclipse thing, but in every military there are elite troops that are better trained.
Think of US special ops troops compared to regular soldiers.

It takes a lot money and A LOT more time to train elite troops, not only that, but frequently the individual being trained has to meet specific requirements and just may not be up to the task.
There is also the mental side to consider

you really dont read the other topics, do you?
windseeker posted this already: ''I think the fact that the moon (representing water) is the opposite of the sun and the element of fire is what blocks the firebender's power, not merely the fact that the sun is out of sight. The clash of the two is the cause.''
this was exactly what i though, and because it makes sence its obviously NOT a flaw.

about the Dai Li, omfg have you never heard of ''special trained units''? they cant afford to give every freakin' soldier this training, and these Dai Li agents are probably talented with fighting and bending skills. they are the best of the best unlike the ''simple'' EK soldiers...

next time, read the other topics first, and then make ur own if its still needed to even create one at all..

Dai Lee were supposed to simply be the Culutral Authority of Ba Sing Se. Not special fighters. And those guys were raised since birth to be loyal to Long Feng, so, they themselves are in a sense brainwashed. So, not everyone can be trained to be Dai Lee since Long Feng only trained Earthbending boys and brainwashed them to only be loyal to him. Henceforth, he is in control of an incredibly powerful group of Earthbenders who are only loyal to him.

Yeah that's true, I think the Dai Lee are loyal just because they have been raised to follow a certain code and to only take orders from Long Feng.

I wonder why that idiot couldn't think of all this himself, instead of making the usual stupid thread I always see him make, daily.

    BAKA BAKA BAKA

lol ye... i know everyone has the right to make their own threads, but its kinda annoying if u make one without thinking about it first.

Okay, I understood the whole troop thing, I was just looking for an example. I don't think there's an answer to this one though

Ever notice that Katara always has water when she needs it?
    Invading the palace
    Fighting Jet (both times)
    When they're fighting the pirates

No really. They're in the middle of Ba Sing Se, and there just happens to be a creek she can use to attack jet with. At the palace, there's a bunch of moats. How'd they get the water out there, anyways?

It's just like the Navy Seals with the Dai Li...you have to have the right stuff to be a Seal...I'm more than certain you have to be just a flat out elite Earthbender to be in the Dai Li to begin with in order to properly use those rock gloves and cling to vertical surfaces(they're the only Earthbenders to ever do that)

About the eclipse go over to the Eclipse thread and look for my post. A simple summary of what I explained is, It is not the same thing as night time becuase the sun's energy is still being sent to the earth. During the eclipse ABSOLUTELY NO energy is sent to the earth.

Ofcourse there are major flaws, that happens in practically all these shows, but I thought about it and realized that the whole eclipse situation is not a flaw and makes sense.
