If you think that every character cast will be asian you don't know how Hollywood operates. Not to mention of all these "asian" characters in the show a large majority are all voiced by people non-asian people. Not to mention if you call this guy asian, then there's no need for further discussion...
    That guy's just blackinese.

It doesn't matter so much about the race of the actors, just as long they look like their characters (i.e someone with tan skin playing Katara/Sokka)altough I do believe that the Royal family should be portrayed by a Chinese/Japanese/Korean etc actor, because Zuko, Azula, Ozai, and Ursa do have asian features (Ursa has almond eyes, none of them have the anime-like eyes like Ty Lee, Toph, or Katara)

all those people are so amazing for themovie...they would look great...but...why does everyone always sasy that sokka and katara arent asian...its an asian world...they do tai chi ( a chinese martial arts)...there asian...maybe inuit? but still asian...get it through your heads...

what about combustion man he doesnot have one feature on him thats asain or the people in the swamp?? the avatar world is soppost to represent the real world, by haveing the firenation that sysmbolizes the U.S. being in the north western hemisphere and the north pole and south pole...how obvious does it get. and i dont think poeple that live in the poles classify themselves with an asin culutre... so stop being stereotypical about martial art movies!!!

@theBLUESPIRIT86 I'm not saying that the movie should have an all Asian cast and again, as long as the actors look like thier characters, I'm fine with that. Where exactly was it said that the fire nation represents the U.S? I don't think that Mike or Bryan had the nations set up to represent real life countries. ATLA is heavily influenced by Asian culture and thus wouldn't it make sense to use martial arts in the fight squences? The main focus is good vs. evil, not that fact there is a lot of martial arts involved.

dude the firenation is soppost to represent the U.s. (the most powerful country which is the firenation, puting what they think is helping the world out by taking over there lives and changing it to the firenation ways, exatcly what the u.s. has done many times in history, also they even talk about that in the show 3.11 DOBS II ,when zuko talks to his dad in the underground bunker, so sweet rose wood u need to catch up on some episode content forsur ha.

For the movie update: all potential actors are in negotiations such E. Fox and E. Brent. actual filming starts in the fall in possible locations like greenland, india, and new zealand. this guy (N. hunt) could be playing zuko -i'd say most likely- http://community.livejournal.com/twilight_film/84882.html

I don't see how some people get so angry in a forum. I mean they're just words.
