Shyamalan is a good director. It's just his past few ideas weren't that clever, but this is Avatar. I'm sure this will be M. Night's "Circus". This will make up for the past few movie. We just have got to be optomistic about this. People are making a big fuss about the casting choices IMO. The story is not about how the actors look. It is about their stories and their backrounds. It is about the teachings of hope, honor, courage, and destiny. As long as the actors get the right backround and story, then it will be as if we were still watching the cartoon. We are insinuating race into a place where it does not exist. The main characters are just people. We are all just people. It does not matter if ablack man plays Ozai. It doesnt matter if an Asian plays Albert in Batman. Heck, it wouldn't matter if Aang was played by a Mexican. This has happened before. One example is Catwoman played by Halle Berry. The point is that we should try to enjoy the characters because of their rich backrounds and story, not because of the color. I don't care if the main cast is black, yellow, or has stripes like a f**kin zebra. As long as the movie is written and transitioned nicels, has good effects, and a decent script, it should be good. |
